Glory Seed Guidelines

Notice – The ministries featured in this section of TheologyWeb are guests of this site and in some cases not bargaining for the rough and tumble world of debate forums, though sometimes they are. Additionally, this area is frequented and highlighted for guests who also very often are not acclimated to debate fora. As such, the rules of conduct here will be more strict than in the general forum. This will be something within the discretion of the Moderators and the Ministry Representative, but we simply ask that you conduct yourselves in a manner considerate of the fact that these ministries are our invited guests. You can always feel free to start a related thread in general forum without such extra restrictions. Thank you.

These daily devotionals are brought to you by Gary Piper, a writer with our Sister Site, Natural Spirit Ministries. TheologyWeb encourages you to visit and support their site.... they have many informative articles which can be discussed right here. If you enjoy Gary Piper's devotionals, please send him an encouraging note or post. We are very appreciative of our partnership with Natural Spirit Ministries and look forward to many more co-ventures.

Glory Seed Devotional’s, 2017: Anticipating and Experiencing Jehovah-Jireh...
    “LORD, give me strength!”
    Shalom!

“See, God has come to save me. I will trust in him and not be afraid. The Lord God is my strength and my song; he has given me victory.”” (Isaiah 12:2, NLT)

“LORD, give me strength!” Of all the words I remember my mother saying those four words are forever etched on my brain and in my spirit! As I reflect on my life I am sure I can account for many of the times when mom would bow her head and pray, “LORD, give me strength!” And knowing the depth of mom’s faith and God’s love for her every time she asked God delivered.

It’s hard to believe 18 letters comprising a four word prayer can have a positive impact not only on mom but on me and all the other lives she touched over the years. The truth is they CAN’T! Letters are letters, words are words, prayers are prayers and in and of themselves have little or no power at all. It is God who has all the power, and it is our faith and belief that opens up the floodgates of God’s blessings.

I never asked mom if the prayer was from something she’d read or if she just began praying it (necessity is the mother of invention). I know where she received the concept of God being her strength, she loved the Psalms and while I may never know for sure I suspect when she read about God being her strength a seed of faith was planted in her that grew into a beautiful flowering tree filled with the fruit of faith, “The Lord is my strength and shield. I trust him with all my heart. He helps me, and my heart is filled with joy. I burst out in songs of thanksgiving.” (Psalm 28:7, NLT)

I am often at odds with myself because I write often myself but I want them to be about YOU not me. My greatest desire is for YOU to be blessed. Our lives are not that much different, sure our circumstances are not the same although I am sure we share some of them in common. But one thing I know we have in common without a doubt is our need for God and for God to be our strength! And I know if God will strengthen a small framed woman named Dorothy Piper and her oldest son Gary He WILL strengthen YOU! When you need the strength to keep going and going bow your head and in earnest say, “LORD, give me strength!” It’ll be there for you when you need it the most.

“I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit.”**

    GRACE and PEACE,
    Gary
