Are your religious and political tendencies affected by your personality?
I'm performing a study to answer a question and I would greatly appreciate your time and participation. The question is:
Is there a definitive correlation between your personality type and where you place your faith in regards to both religion and politics?
The idea behind this is that certain personality traits (Compassion, being a "thinker", extroverts, etc.) tend to follow a certain group that may or may not be definable by their personality traits as a whole. I'm exploring the possibility that they may actually be defineable in such a way.
I don't know that the data collected will give us the difinitive answer I am looking for, but I want to document trends and tendencies. Maybe, if the margin of error is small enough, I'll discover something interesting.
A few guidelines:
1) "Personality type" is the terminology I use. I will use the Jung/Myers-Briggs test (which rates 4 aspects of personality). Essentially it measure how on perceive's the world and reacts to it. It is based on theory, and is a fair method of determination. The test has has a resulting 16 possible psychological types. The 16 different types are often referred to by an abbreviation of four letters, the initial letters of each of their four type preferences (except in the case of iNtuition).
2) I do not intend for this to be a discussion or debate thread, just for data compilation. That is not to mean I discourage discussion, but, I do encourage cessation until a fair data set has been acquired. I'm hoping for 100+ from tWeb, and I will see about other sources.
Here is the link to the test we will use. It is somewhat lengthy (easy questions though), and has some refer advertising but the site is safe and adware free. Please try to answer as honestly as possible. The more times the test is taken, the more accurate it will be (trending that is) but if you're completely honest the first time, once should do it.

(I have taken the appropriate steps to notify the site master of this study.)
Directions :
1) Take the test. If you already know your type, proceed past this step.
2) Reply to this thread with the personality type results, followed by your current religious preference, your political alignment (not party) and if you would, your reaction to the results. If you're on the fence about either religion or politics, please state such and identify what you tend toward.
This way, everyone has answered the exact same questions with the same possible answers.
Thank you very much for your contribution and time.
I'll start:
I tested ESFP
I am a Christian
I tend toward Conservativism
The test pretty accurately summarized how I perceive and react. There's an interesting psychology regarding the impetus behind which we find ourselves urged... nay, compelled, to read someone's entire signature.

Test was pretty close. I usually ESTJ or ENTJ, but if you look at the results, those two categories are almost at 50% so a bit of wavering is not unexpected.People are apt to mistake the strength of their feeling for the strength of their argument.

no political interest at all. I care how how the church is run but have little interest in secular government and how different countries govern themselves. BTW I haven't lived in my home country for 15 years so have very little interest in the secular government there and even less interest elsewhere.

INTP
Christian of the Eastern Orthodox variety.
Government Ideally totalitarian with me as supreme ruler, otherwise I prefer a typical conservative government."Years ago, I mean decades ago, I read a quote about politicians performing quid pro quo favors for campaign cash, and whether or not we could prove it. The guy who was quoted opined that it was difficult to determine. He noted that in many cases, the payoff might not take the form of votes on legislative action -- those might be detectable, and so are avoided -- but could take subtler forms, like the question that is never asked at a hearing.
The media's doing a terrific job of not asking questions it doesn't want to know the answer to. It doesn't ask these questions in bulk, and the great volume of questions it doesn't ask makes it cheap to not ask questions.
And it passes these savings on to you, the customer." Ace

Thanks to those who have participated so far. My sample size is increasing from other sources too.

-I'm an INFJ
-Christian - non denominational
-I tend to be on the conservative end on some issues and the liberal on the other. All depends on what side I think has the more valid outlook at the time.
-I've always found this test pretty accurate, I usually tend to test INFJ and sometimes INTJ depending on my mood at that time.Love is not blind; that is the last thing it is. Love is bound; and the more it is bound the less it is blind. GK Chesterton, Orthodoxy

INTP:
Introverted (I) 87.1% Extroverted (E) 12.9%
Intuitive (N) 65.63% Sensing (S) 34.38%
Thinking (T) 81.82% Feeling (F) 18.18%
Perceiving (P) 69.7% Judging (J) 30.3%
I didn't get 100% for I?
I'm a non-denominational Christian who's not particularly concerned about politics (mostly because I think a lot of the positions suck), although if I had to make a decision, I'd probably lean towards Conservative (in the American sense).
I'd say that the test is pretty accurate.

INTP - "Architect". Greatest precision in thought and language. Can readily discern contradictions and inconsistencies. The world exists primarily to be understood. 3.3% of total population.
You scored as introverted and intellectually curious. I recently started a discussion forum for introverted intellectuals.
i dont know how accurate this is. i have been changing a lot both in my inteligences and my perceptions for the past 10 years but i think its pretty accurate.

i find it amazing that a person who requests another to demonstrate that they are not terrorists by some small action like making the claim they are not terrorists, becomes terrorized himself, and not by the terrorists or even the proposed terrorists; but by those who seek tolerance and understanding. i believe that fits the definition of ironic doesn't it?

- INTP, but I'm inclined to say INFP would be slightly more accurate. As you can see, the last three are all somewhat borderline.

- Somewhat conservative, but mostly per issue... I favour independent candidates over large political parties
- I think the MBTI test was fairly accurate.
