  • Inaguration crowd size

The media is making a lot of noise about how Trump's inaugural crowd was smaller than Obama's. Fair enough. Obama drew a record-breaking crowd to his first inauguration for a number of reasons (but largely because Democrats made a concerted effort to get as many people to the inauguration as possible, and the media spent weeks hyping the ceremony). What the media isn't telling you is that Trump's draw was well above average since the inauguration was moved to the west side of the Capital building and second only to Obama's record-breaking turnout.

    Bush (1989):

    Trump (2017):

What you'll mostly see at fake news sites like CNN are bait-and-switch comparisons of photos taken before Trump's inauguration when the crowd was still arriving versus photos taken during Obama's inauguration when the crowd was at its peak. Maybe Trump would be more accommodating to the media if they weren't so blatantly dishonest.

Would it really kill the media to just be honest?

Considering their goals I believe it would.

I wonder how long it'll be before CNN pulls this image? Anyway, it's a high-resolution interactive panorama that allows you to pan around and zoom in and see that Trump's inauguration crowd was densely packed all the way to base of the Washington Monument:

          http://www.cnn.com/interactive/2017/...ion-gigapixel/

It's a far cry from other images gleefully posted by the media showing the mall mostly empty (hours before the inauguration had even gotten underway).

I love it that Trump is giving the MSM ... um.... 'heck'.

            They SO deserve him!

It's been a long time coming to be fair. For all the years that the regressive left threw around words like racist, sexist, homophobic and transphobic like it was candy it's about time they got their comeuppance.

What is funny is that considering the threats of violent protests and all the warnings issued by the Washington D.C. police one could reasonably expect a smaller crowd as a result.

I saw it with my own eyes. It was less. But Obama's election was seen as uniquely historical and exciting. It was the first black president and all. We probably won't see a uniquely ecstatic turn out like that until the first female president sometime in the future.

OTOH, according to Nielsen ratings Trump's inauguration was the second most watched one on TV since Reagan (the record holder): http://ew.com/tv/2017/01/21/trump-inauguration-ratings/
