Natural Science 301 Guidelines

This is an open forum area for all members for discussions on all issues of science and origins. This area will and does get volatile at times, but we ask that it be kept to a dull roar, and moderators will intervene to keep the peace if necessary. This means obvious trolling and flaming that becomes a problem will be dealt with, and you might find yourself in the doghouse.

As usual, Tweb rules apply. If you haven't read them now would be a good time.

  • Checking a quotation

I am trying to check a quotation that Hugh Ross used, by Geoffrey Burbridge in speaking about the big bang he is said to have said something about everyone running off the to First Church of Christ of the Big Bang. It is supposed to have come from

Stephen Strauss, "An Innocent's Guide to the Big Bang Theory: Fingerprint in Space Left by the Universe as a Baby Still Has Doubters Hurling Stones," Globe and Mail (Toronto), April 25, 1992, p. 1.

Toronto public library claims to have the Globe and Mail digitized and online for that year, but one requires a library card to get it, which requires going to Toronto. Does anyone have a Toronto library card? I would like a pdf of that article if possible.

Is it "If the universe arose out of a big bang, it must have had a beginning. If it had a beginning, it must have a beginner"?

I'm always still in trouble again

"You're by far the worst poster on TWeb" and "TWeb's biggest liar" --starlight (the guy who says Stalin was a right-winger)
"Overall I would rate the withdrawal from Afghanistan as by far the best thing Biden's done" --Starlight
"Of course, human life begins at fertilization that’s not the argument." --Tassman

No, I said what quote I was trying to verify. It was used by Hugh Ross and talked about the First Church of the Big Bang. If that isn't what you meant, I misunderstood

The quote is from Hugh Ross's book titled "Origin of the Universe". The quote from geoffery burbridge: "As a result of this discovery (the big bang) his peers in physics and astronomy were rushing off to join the first church of christ of the big bang."

You can always ask at Reasons To Believe.
Micah 6:8 He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the LORD require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?
