All sorts of stuff -- free
Freecycle has a neat concept.
Some of us have things that are usable and we don't want them anymore. Some of us need things and don't want to or can't afford to pay for them. Some things are only used for a short period of time, like kid's clothes, and then are still usable but no longer needed. Some people have too many tomatoes. (I mail mine to Florida, but that's a different story) And if someone can benefit from something we don't want or need, it beats the mess out of sending it to the landfill.
Freecycle is not like shopping in a department store. It's more like going to a flea market or a rummage sale. You see some of this, some of that. I've seen couches, bricks, beds, clothes, cribs, dishes, dogfood, washing machines, weight sets, bicycles, and so much more on my local freecycle. And you can even ask if anyone wants to be rid of a particular item if you have a specific need.
The price is right. It's all free.
Here's a link to the main site if you're interested. You can find and join the local group (they operate out of Yahoo groups) from there.
I've used this service to pass on clothes, books, an old monitor, etc. It works.

My beloved uses the local Freecycle mailing list a lot. It works really well.

Yeah, it's a pretty neat concept. I've been a member of the local group for a while, but haven't done anything w/ it yet(my room needs a *major* cleaning before I even know what I have to list). Some stuff, though, it's just way easier to take to the local Salvation Army or Goodwill. So I dunno . . . I guess it just depends on what exactly you want to get rid of.
Here I am!
