You people make me sick.
Since I am not a baker, and all those pictures make me hungry!

Re: Bachelor breadbaking!
I didn't mean that I never bake. I don't bake bread or cinnamon buns or stuff like that.
I have a yummy chocolate chip cookie recipe, and a fabulous fruitcake recipe and a pretty special lemon cheesecake recipe and so on.
But I used to make bread, and got tired of doing it.

Re: Bachelor breadbaking!
Now this isn't what's supposed to happen, but it doesn't seem like any harm was done. I had the bread in the oven for about ten minutes when the shop called saying my motorcycle was ready to pick up, so long as I could get there before 5 pm. The alternative was to wait for Monday morning, which isn't much of an alternative.
So I turned off the oven until I got home, then relit it and baked for another 30 minutes. I really don't know how it effected the bread.

The first thing I notice is how crusty the bread is, but I don't know if that's because of the ingredient mix or the way it got baked. There is no lao tzu.

Probably would have affected texture if anything. Crust is usually affected by moisture more than baking time (up until it burns, of course). Might have made it a little chewier but since it had time to firm up before you turned it down it didn't collapse.
That will not work with a quiche, FYI.
