I used to bake bread (usually straight Whole Wheat), but I was the only one eating it, and it was going bad because I wasn't eating it fast enough.
Sometimes I'd throw in some diced garlic, roll the dough into thin strips and make garlic bread sticks. Great whenever we had pasta.

Re: Bachelor breadbaking!
That reminds me that I am quite annoyed at our local grocery store because they have stopped selling muffins in a 6-pack, and hot dog and hamburger buns in 12-packs, because "some people can't eat that much and they have to throw it away"!
WHAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is Alberta! If for some bizarre reason you don't have a FREEZER, then chuck the leftovers outside for a spell! They'll keep all winter out there!
What morons!
And the reason I am so upset is that when you buy less than half a dozen baked goods (i.e. muffins), you have to pay GST on them. AND, the price has not dropped enough on the muffins to make up for the extra tax, and certainly not enough on the buns to cause a person to jump up and down for joy that you are now getting a bargain by having to buy 2 packages of hot dog buns for your kid's birthday party instead of 1!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It's plain and simple downsizing, if you ask me!

Re: Bachelor breadbaking!
Reading this thread tempts me to try baking bread, but I know I'd have the same problem, unless I ate half of it and gave the other half to my coworkers.
Does anyone know how to make stuffed pretzels? They used to sell those at college. They had cream cheese in them and were reeeeeeally good. The Thinkulum

Scroll down and there are pics showing how to do it.
By the by, the ham came out much better than it looked. Very tasty - looks hideous though.

That's just how it looks when you overfill the pans a bit. (And can't take a decent picture.)

I know you can only carry something on for so long, but I miss all the regular posts (and pictures in this thread).

I might have some banana bread to put up here in the next day or so.

I was thinking about making the stuffed pretzels but last time I tried Tweb wasn't letting me upload pics.
