So that's, according to Peter, the meaniing of:

"All flesh is like grass, and all its glory like the flower of the field; the grass withers, and the flower wilts; but the word of the Lord remains forever."

So Peter was wrong about that?

      (since you said:

"The Hebrew text is intending to contrast the briefness of a person's existence with the everlasting nature of God's Word. Our existence is like the grass of the field, here today, and gone tomorrow. " )

This life. Birth to death. Not eternal life.

I don't care how systematic your theology is until you show me how biblical it is.

Thanks, sylvius, I really like this intertextual midrash.

      Matches with John 1:14!
Except of course that John 1 doesn't use euangellion. It uses logos. So the linguistic ling is tenuous at best.

My most recent faith struggle is not one of intellect. I don't really do that anymore. Sooner or later you just figure out there are some guys who don't believe in God and they can prove He doesn't exist, and some other guys who can prove He does exist, and the argument stopped being about God a long time ago and now it's about who is smarter, and honestly, I don't care. ~ Don Miller Blue Like Jazz

It uses both "logos" and "sarx"
