That's like the hypocritical greenies who fly in their private jets to greenie events on carbon emissions.

And Christians are huge hypocrites too, so therefore no political agenda Christians have should be tolerated.

If your whole worldview rests on a particular claim being true, you damn well better have evidence for it. You should have tons of evidence.

So, The Thinker, why don't you tell us what you "think" about the issue in the op regarding those who claim to care about the environment and just make a horrible mess.

          Without the hyperbole, please.

I have mixed feelings about private jets. They're slower and more crash-prone than regular airliners, as well as being five to seven times less fuel efficient. If a normal airliner is grounded, a private jet is grounded as well. The only thing they are at the end of the day is the epitome of travelling in style.

However at the end of the day, if you want to change the global CO2 emissions you should look at where the big impacts are coming from. I have a feeling that the CO2 emission from private jets are dwarfed by other places.

Trying to find global flight statistics of private jets to see how much of an impact they have.

I happen to think policies should be based on science, not on what looks hypocritical.

Too bad, in the eyes of the public this would cause the protesters to lose a lot of moral high ground.

Does that take into account the "carbon footprint per person" aspect? Generally, these private jets will be 4-10 people as opposed to 150-300 or so on airliners.

The oil industry for nearly a century has used their money and political power gained from it to push competing energy options away from the market. And so the fact that these protesters use cars that run on oil is no fault against them. When it comes to garbage, it's sad. Obviously they should be more aware of the trash they leave. But they are protesting in a remote area, this is going to be inevitable without a sanitation service.

But the damage from a spilled pipe line, would do much more damage and make their drinking water polluted maybe for years. And In 2 Years, the Company Behind DAPL Reported 69 Accidents, Polluting Rivers in 4 States. So what if this was your backyard?

If they build it and the oil spills and ruins their drinking supply for years causing a disaster like Flint Michigan, what should happen? Should the tribe get billions from the oil company?

Or do you just shrug your shoulders and say, "Oh well."

That's just used as an example. I'm not trying to change the subject to Christianity.

I guess you missed the part that it is not about the garbage they left behind, but the CARS full of oil and chemicals they left behind that will POLLUTE the very water that they are supposedly trying to protect? derp.
