  • Obama's Shadow Government?

It has been a long standing tradition for former presidents to step back from politics when they leave office. At least for awhile. This was probably best exemplified by both Bush's who refused to be drawn in to criticizing their successors. But stories keep circulating that Barack Obama has not been doing this. That he has been orchestrating resistance to his successor Donald Trump.

For instance, this from the New York Post:

This was also brought up by Ed Klein during an interview back in December on Fox and Friends Weekend:

Ed Klein:Pete Hegseth: The Obamas claim it is because the children want to stay in D.C..

    Ed Klein:

Hahaha, calling a community organizing non-profit a "shadow government" or an "insurgency" really is the exemplification of First World Problems.

Yes, calling it a "shadow government" is a stretch, but having a former president openly and actively undermine his successor is certainly unprecedented in US politics.

More proof that he is a scum bag, not that we needed more proof.

This all strikes me as a bit paranoid. But that's too bad, I've always wanted to work in a shadow government.

It's hardly unprecedented. Theodore Roosevelt hated Taft so much that he actually started his own party to run against him.

It was the reason I put a question mark in the title.

And leading to the inevitable question... just how much does a shadow weigh?
