  • Who will be next to fall off the Trump titanic?

After Flynn's resignation yesterday, Puzder has now gotten the boot as potential Labor secretary although Puzder was never really 'in' as such.

So we need a betting pool, who will be next to fall off the Trump admin's crazy train? Likely picks include:

Sean Spicer - this much-maligned and much-mocked press secretary seems terrible at his job and it's well-known Trump thinks he's botching it up. Good money says Trump will fire him soon.
Kellyanne Conway - she seems to be getting sick of lying constantly on all the news shows and the news shows are getting sick of having her on to lie to them. She might well just say that she's out. And the ethics office is saying she needs to be disciplined for advertising Ivanka's products.
VP Mike Pence - he's apparently pretty angry that Trump lied to his face about Flynn's Russia dealings. He might just say he can't stomach the crazy and the lies anymore and quit.
Trump himself - he's finding the job much more stressful than he thought, he's not being well-liked as president, he seems to struggle to read and being president pretty much requires him to try to read things constantly, and Melania's apparently finding being first lady to be terrible. And once the Russian dealings come out into the open he may be forced out.
Melania - she appears to dislike her husband and dislike him being president. A divorce could fix that.

    Other middling-chance picks include:
Rex Tillerson - as the Russian scandal gains coverage his past Russian dealings might make his position in the administration untenable.
Reince Prebius - he might just get sick of the whole mess and want to disassociate himself from Trump.

So what's the bets on who's next to fall out of the clown car?

    I'll go with Sean Spicer.

BTW Starlight, completely off topic, but are you and your family safe from the fires?

Yes. There's not much in the way of danger to persons, although a few homes in the hills have burnt down (with the residents evacuated of course). The biggest effect for me is that the hills I like walking in are on fire, and the nice bush I like walking through there is probably burnt to a crisp.

Over the past 20 or 30 years every Administration has had at least one Cabinet nominee drop out so this is hardly earth shattering news smiley yawn.gif

Yep, poor Sean Spicer. He's probably doing as well as could be expected considering the chaos he has to deal with every day, and even with that the President is apparently criticizing his appearence, doesn't like the suits he wears during his press briefings. Kellyanne, who has a similar job, trying to explain away Trumps gaffs, looks like she is aging fast. Steve Bannon though, he's a scary guy, a self proclaimed Leninist, whose self admitted purpose is to bring the U.S. government crashing down. But who knows with this ethically deprived bunch, could be anyone at any time.

After years of the left not only lying, but gloating about lying (looking at you, Harry Reid), the full nuclear meltdown of the left over Trump's off-the-cuff remarks rings just a tad hollow.

If I had to guess somebody, I'm going with Conway. Supposedly Trump unfollowed her on Twitter yesterday (but then refollowed her after somebody called her on it). Or Spicer. I can't imagine Trump is happy with him for telling the media that he was aware of the Flynn situation for weeks (and he's already had a critical eye on Spicer for awhile).

I don't know why anybody would think Pence is going anywhere, incidentally. An eventual impeachment wouldn't shock anybody.

I hope Spicer doesn't go. I like that guy in the way I like a courageous little dog fighting against long odds. Conway might be out if she isn't able to quit acting like an amateur. But hey, at least for whoever is next to go, at least it ain't Kim Jong Un giving them their walking papers.

Both CNN and Morning Joe have recently refused to book Conway because of concerns about her credibility. Given the way Trump seems to think/operate, that might actually play in her favor.

Every time I hear his last name I think of this character.

I guess that last name Spicer is just that uncommon for me.

Today Bob Harward refused a free ticket to board the Trump titanic... turning down Trump's offer to be national security adviser, and telling a friend that he thought the Trump administration was too chaotic and that the offer stank. Smart man.

His exact words were rather more colloquial than that.

Can't say it here and can't link to it because this is a safe space, and even if I gave a trigger warning, my speech would probably still be suppressed by mods.

Pity, because Bob Harward's actual words when referring to Trump's offer indicate his depth of negative feeling at the mere prospect of working with him.
