Re: Muslim dating question
I have shown verses from the quran, not the Bible, that prove that God in islam and in the quran, - sends souls of people he had made, astray and to be lost eternally.
The Bible does NOT teach that - save by smaneck's nonsensical wrenching of the Bible and doing cheap violence to it!
I will share just one verse from Matthew with you all : Matthew 18 : 12-14
12 “What do you think? If a man owns a hundred sheep, and one of them wanders away, will he not leave the ninety-nine on the hills and go to look for the one that wandered off?
13 And if he finds it, truly I tell you, he is happier about that one sheep than about the ninety-nine that did not wander off.
14 In the same way your Father in heaven is not willing that any of these little ones should perish.
In the true teachings of Jesus Christ - not the bahai or islamic versions of Jesus, Our Heavenly Father - the God of Jesus Christ, is NOT WILLING that anyone should perish...and in this Parable (Matthew 18), He teaches us exactly THAT.
So, God the Father - as taught here, goes out LOOKING AND SEARCHING for that single, lost sheep, and doesn't stop searching UNTIL HE FINDS IT.
One never finds this idea in islam nor in the quran by any comparison.
In fact - the very opposite is true in the quran!
Allah does 'not love the unrepentant', he does not love the sinful people etc, etc, ie those who who go astray and who lose their way.
Whereas, the God that Jesus Christ teaches about in the parable above, is so loving and caring, that He goes out searching and looking for that ONE, SINGLE sheep that has gone astray!
And then, brings it back on his shoulders, REJOICING, having found that single lost sheep. Allah never does that in the quran..! Period.
So, I find the love of God in the Gospel of Christ FAR, FAR much more Superior to the so-called 'mercy and compassion of Allah' of the quran.
Skipping over and trying to ignore the words of Christ above, proves conclusively that your view on so-called "God's predestining people into damnation in the Bible" to be fallacious and fully baseless.."Theres a God-shaped vacuum in everyone that can only be filled by God Himself!"

Not really, smaneck, you ignored the passage in Matthew 18 : 12-14 that I had already posted, which I reproduce below :
I will share just one verse from Matthew with you all : Matthew 18 : 12-14 :

Re: Muslim dating question
I have a question Dan, No doubt you are a very sincere person in your own personal beliefs, and that's great. I applaud that. However my problem with alot of your arguments isn't about your sincerity to your faith, it's about demeaning other faiths to make your own appear superior. As a Muslim, I'm proud of who I am, and what I represent. You may think of Islam as a fascist ideology, but I see Islam as a way of life that encourages charity, giving to the poor, visiting the sick, caring, and protecting orphans. I've learned from the Qur'an and the Sunnah, that not only do I have to be good to my Mother, but that I shouldn't even so much as blow out air in frustration at her, or my father. There's lot's more to Islam than warfare, and Jihad. I raise my children by it, to stand by the truth, even if it's against your ownself. My sons learn their sisters are to be protected, my wife learns that she not only has a friend, and a husband, but a protector and counselor.
Where is the evil in that? Where is the evil in me going to the masjid, and helping my fellow Muslims resolve a dispute, teaching the young about Islam, and the Qur'an. holding Eid, and breaking the fast with others of my faith. Exactly what is evil about all that to you?

Re: Muslim dating question
The evil is what he created when he projected it into his own mind.
“And so I tell you, keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you.
For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And to everyone who knocks, the door will be opened.

Re: Muslim dating question
The evil is crystal clear when the quran says that Allah misleads people and leads them astray, from the true path :
For it was Allah that supposedly "sent down those revelations" which he uses to misguide people and to send them astray...!
"..those who reject Faith say: "What means God by this similitude (parable)?" By it He causes many to stray, and many He leads into the right path; but He causes not to stray, except those who forsake the path
Sura al-baqara 26,
and
"..when they turned aside, Allah made their hearts to turn aside (from truth), and Allah does not guide the transgressing people."
sura as-saff 5
Allah, whom you claim as 'a loving and compassionate god' apparently ALSO loves sending peoples astray AND misleading them into damnation, as what the quran above teaches!
It is evil when you have injunctions in the quran to treat non-muslims as najasun - FILTH / dirt / 'shit' etc - as found in Sura 9 verse 28
1) "Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoo innama almushrikoona najasun.." Meaning - 'O you who believe - Verily, the Mushrikun - ie.polytheists, pagans, idolaters, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah, and in the Message of Muhammad - are Najasun - PROFANE / Unclean / Filthy.
sura 9/28.
This is 20 percent - a minority of world muslims, of the world population calling the MAJORITY 80 Percent of rest the world Population as NAJASOON - Profane & filthy and shitty ...! And as filth, dirty and unclean. - To be deemed unworthy and regarded worse than condesendingly.
It IS evil when non-muslims are condemned by the quran to be attacked and killed as in:
2) 'Fight against those who BELIEVE not in Allah, nor in the Last Day, nor forbid that which has been forbidden by Allah and His Messenger and those who acknowledge not
the religion of truth (i.e. Islam) among the people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians), until they pay the Jizyah (humiliating tax on non-Muslims) with willing submission,
and feel themselves subdued..'
Sura 9:29
It IS Evil and downright injustice toward women-folk when al-quran commands abuse and beatings of women-folk who 'displease their husbands'
3) '...So good women are the obedient, guarding in secret that which Allah hath guarded. As for those from whom ye fear rebellion, admonish them and banish them to beds apart, and scourge them...'
sura 4/34
can these wives practise self-defense towards the husbands who abuse them physically ie.SCOURGE them ?? Of course NOT - it will be a grave SIN for these poor women if they ever tried doing so!
It is evil when the quran graphically prescribes IN DETAIL How to chop of the heads of its detractors, and how to decapitate the hands and limbs of unbelievers like:
'When your Lord revealed to the angels: I am with you, therefore make firm those who believe. I will cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieve. Therefore strike off their heads and strike off every fingertip of them..'
sura 8/12.
Until and unless you can explain (away) rationally all the above violence, terrorism and tyranny commanded by the quran above, YES, islam and the quran is an evil ideology and religion, & merely under the guise of a so-called 'good social system'. Its not my 'projection' in any way or form, but the truly real deal in islam.
Wasalaam, Dan."Theres a God-shaped vacuum in everyone that can only be filled by God Himself!"
