Yeah, it kinda does, especially when you learn about the other dirty tricks like"unmasking" people's names and leaking it to the press and the fact that the data didn't have intelligence value.

House Intelligence Committee chair Rep. Devin Nunes (R-CA) announced on Wednesday that he had learned that members of President Donald Trump’s transition team had been under surveillance by the Obama administration, that individual names had been “unmasked” by the intelligence community, and that those names had been leaked to the media.

Nunes’s information — which he said he would deliver to the White House later — vindicates the bulk of Trump’s claims earlier this month.

Nunes said that while there was no direct “wiretap” by President Barack Obama of Trump Tower, there was indeed surveillance — perhaps collected incidentally — of people close to Trump, possibly including Trump himself.

Much of that had been suspected, on the basis of mainstream media reports, but Rep. Nunes reported something new: that the surveillance did not involve the ongoing Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) inquiry into Russia’s alleged involvement in the 2016 presidential election. Indeed, none of the surveillance had intelligence value, he said.

“I believe it was all done legally,” Nunes told a press conference. The question, he said, was why names of those swept up in the surveillance had been leaked. The collection of the intelligence appeared to have been legal, but the leaking may have been illegal.

You certainly are a sucker for fake news MM. For one thing, Nunes is not supposed to be consulting with the White House on this, nor has any of this so called evidence been shared with the investigative committee as is the norm. There is no news here, its just more collusion, only now its collusion between the White House and a biased member of the investigative committee. I don't know why Nunes is the chair of the committee anyway since, if i am not mistaken, he was a member of the Trump transition team himself, a member of the very team which is being investigated. Besides all that, there is nothing new here. That there was surveillance going on with respect to the Trump Campaign is not news, its been going on since last July. Nunes wants to focus on the leaks again, rather than on the information revealed by them. They can do both, but Nunes has lost all credibility and should step down from the committee chair. This I think is going to become a big story in itself, and it doesn't look like a good thing for either the President or Rep. Nunes.

Nunes could be forced to resign due to this. There's a lot of people calling for him to step down from the committee due to this inappropriate behavior.

Meanwhile, Representative Adam Schiff, head Dem on the intelligence committee (a former US prosecutor in LA who successfully prosecuted FBI agent Richard Miller for "passing secret documents to the Soviet Union in exchange for a promised $65,000 in gold and cash."), has announced There is now 'more than circumstantial evidence' of Trump-Russia collusion.

The FBI has information that indicates associates of President Donald Trump communicated with suspected Russian operatives to possibly coordinate the release of information damaging to Hillary Clinton's campaign, US officials told CNN.

                  You’re in denial.

ALL the Intelligence Agencies have a “high degree of confidence” that Russia DID hack the election, this is not in doubt. What’s still in question is whether Trump’s people were in collusion with Russia over this. Clearly the FBI thinks there is sufficient reason to investigate the degree of contact between Russia and the likes of Paul Manafort, Michael Flynn, Carter Page et al. Plus we have Trump’s ongoing glowing references to Putin. How much did he know?

The whole sordid business is a can of worms.

No, actually, he isn't. He's only being called one because he pointed out what was obvious to all but the nuttiest of progressives who think Drumpf is going to jail over their made-up collaboration with Russia any second now.

No, they have a "high degree of confidence" they hacked the private server of John Podesta. That is nowhere near the same thing as "hacking the election", a lie designed to make people think they hacked voting machines and edited the voting tallies.

                    • I hope the hopes of all the nuts keep being falsely raised up before being dashed against rocks. Over and over and over. 8 years of DRUMPF at the helm as every drop of hope is squeezed out of them by evil liberal politicians selling them this garbage while they enrich themselves at your expense.

Yes, actually, he is. Nunes' first responsibility was to inform the House Intelligence Committee, of which he's Chairman...NOT to run off and tell Trump.

Well we just don’t know as yet whether or not Trump and/or his associates collaborated with Russia, that’s the whole point. That’s what the investigation is all about.

No, they have a "high degree of confidence" that Russian hacking was directed at interfering with the US electoral process in order to discredit Clinton in favour of Trump. And while it is known that the voting machines weren’t interfered with, there’s no way of knowing what negative impact the strategic anti-Hillary leaks had on the intentions of the voters.

You really love that phrase doncha?

anonymous sources who have "high confidence" are just fake buzz phrases. It is used to convey that the fake news story is accurate and damning, without actually making any solid claims backed up with actual evidence. They can always backpedal away from it when needed.

That's how liberals are trying to spin it, sure, but you know what the average man on the street is saying?

"Wow, Obama was totally wiretapping Trump!"

That was the topic of conversation I heard among some anti-Trump union boys this morning.
