A biblical brain twister . . . don't think too hard.
The oldest man who ever lived, died before his father did. What was his father's name.
[Mind you, these are two human beings, father and son.]Truth originates with God.
Belief originates with truth.
Reason is based in one's beliefs.
"There is no wisdom nor understanding nor counsel against the Self Existent Existence." -- Proverbs 21:30.
"For in him we live, and move, and have our being; . . . " -- The Apostle Paul - Acts 17:28.
". . . the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; . . ." -- Romans 1:16.
". . . the gospel . . . how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures: . . . " -- 1 Corinthians 15:1-4.
"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. " -- John 3:16.
". . . as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the children of God, even to them that believe on his name: Who were born, not . . . of the will of man, but of God." -- John 1:12, 13.
"Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God: . . ." -- 1 John 5:1.
". . . and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more. " -- Hebrews 8:12.

Well the oldest man was Methusaleh, but his father (Enoch) was "taken up" and therefore never died...
Elijah was taken up as well, so I dunno if you could say that Enoch was the oldest man who ever lived, with Elijah in mind it would be a tie, surely.
The OP should come put us out of our misery

Re: A biblical brain twister . . . don't think too hard.
Indeed Methuselah is the oldest man recorded to have lived. He lived 969 years. (Genesis 4:18.) Believed to have died the year of the flood.
Enoch was Methuselah's father, Methuselah being born when Enoch was said to be 65 years of age.
Now Enoch lived to 365 years until God took him, because he walked with God. So Enoch never died. (Methuselah being 300 at the time.) (Genesis 5:22-24. Hebrews 11:5.)
So the answer is "Enoch," which is Methuselah's father's name.Truth originates with God.
