I am trying to find a mystery novel for my brother. It can not be anything dealing with horror or too much crime/violence. He's already read Sherlock Holmes.

Most of the ones I've seen are murdery mysteries. Are there any good aventure mysteries or genre other than violent or lude that is a really good engaging read?
