fasting
Has fasting ever been part of the protestant christian doctrine?
If so, why is it that it is hardly practised (as far as I know)
if not, why was it cast out as it is an important practise in the new testament as well. If I am not mistaken Jesus did it as well.
My other question is, could fasting like not watching TV or abstaining from other regular pleasures also be considered fasting (if that "saved" time would be spent in prayer, reading the bible etc etc) or would that just be a free wheeling interpretation?
