Glory Seed Guidelines

Notice – The ministries featured in this section of TheologyWeb are guests of this site and in some cases not bargaining for the rough and tumble world of debate forums, though sometimes they are. Additionally, this area is frequented and highlighted for guests who also very often are not acclimated to debate fora. As such, the rules of conduct here will be more strict than in the general forum. This will be something within the discretion of the Moderators and the Ministry Representative, but we simply ask that you conduct yourselves in a manner considerate of the fact that these ministries are our invited guests. You can always feel free to start a related thread in general forum without such extra restrictions. Thank you.

These daily devotionals are brought to you by Gary Piper, a writer with our Sister Site, Natural Spirit Ministries. TheologyWeb encourages you to visit and support their site.... they have many informative articles which can be discussed right here. If you enjoy Gary Piper's devotionals, please send him an encouraging note or post. We are very appreciative of our partnership with Natural Spirit Ministries and look forward to many more co-ventures.

    A Glory Seed Devotional
Cary’s Sugar Free Syrup, Me, and the Holy Spirit…

Early yesterday morning I braved the cold Michigan nearly sub-zero wind-chill to replace my sugar free syrup so I could eat a couple of slices of French toast for breakfast. Ten minutes after returning home I sat down to “wolf” down the once frozen slices of egg drenched toast, flipped open the top on my newly acquired bottle of Cary’s Sugar Free Syrup turned the bottle upside down and squeezed. Nothing! I squeezed harder, nothing! Just as a wave of disappointment blew across my face I thought maybe there was a seal under the cap. Sure enough after further investigation and removing the seal I (and the dog) enjoyed our breakfast.

Almost an hour later my breakfast/syrup experience took on a much deeper meaning when the Holy Spirit pointed out to me on different occasions I’ve asked God to pour his blessings out on me only to have some form of inner seal I had neglected to remove block the blessings. Suddenly I found myself wondering how many times I have blocked God’s blessings entering my life because I thought I’d removed the obstacles blocking my relationship with God.

Next I began trying to figure out what inner seal I either hadn’t removed or keeps coming back. Again the Holy Spirit came to my rescue by reminding me of Mark chapter 9 verse 24, “I do believe, but help me overcome my UNBLIEF!” (Mark 9:24, NLT, emphasis mine) At first I tried arguing with the Holy Spirit on the grounds that God has helped me through so much over the past 5 months how can unbelief be a problem for me.

The response from the Holy Spirit? Silence, the “I’m-the-Holy-Spirit-don’t-argue-with-me-silence” I get when I go head-to-head with the powers that created the universe. Have you ever had a similar experience? If not do you know what I mean?

One thing I am walking away from this experience with, you never know where a bottle of Cary’s Sugar Free Syrup and 2 slices of frozen and toasted egg dipped bread will take you! I never would have thought they would take me on a mountain top experience with the Holy Spirit.

    You gotta love it!

    Grace and PEACE!
    Believe it! Experience it!
    Gary

I'm glad to see these devotionals back.
"I am not angered that the Moral Majority boys campaign against abortion. I am angry when the same men who say, "Save OUR children" bellow "Build more and bigger bombers." That's right! Blast the children in other nations into eternity, or limbless misery as they lay crippled from "OUR" bombers! This does not jell." - Leonard Ravenhill
