Yet Another Testament of Jesus Christ
Well, here is the first few pages of another Testament of Jesus Christ, from the land of Antarctica. I am writing a little book where a man and his family, and a few others, are led out of Jerusalem around the same time as Lehi, and while Lehi is led to the Americas, Yankin is led to Antarctica. Here you go, the first few chapters of the book of Yankin:
I, Yankin, do write this record after the manner of the prophets of old, for I wast appointed a prophet by the Lord God, just as the prophets of old were. It came to pass that the people of Jerusalem were becoming unruly, and disobedient to the Lord God, and they were a stiff-necked people. They engaged in all manner of sin and debauchery and evil, and did refuse to obey the Lord God. And the word of the Lord came to me in a vision, and led me outside, and pointed to the people of Jerusalem, and told me to preach the word of God to them. And I did preach the word of God to them for many days, and they tried to kill me.
And it came to pass that the Lord did give me a vision, in which I was told to lead my family, and my brother's family out of this land, and to take them to a white land, where my descendants would build great civilizations. And I was told that the anointed one, who is God's Son, would come to my children, and I rejoiced.
And it came to pass that I informed my brother of this vision, and he refused to believe me, for he did love the land of his forefathers, the land of Israel. And so my brother refused to come. But it was truth, that the Lord God didst send me an angel in which I was commanded to take his family. And it came to pass that I prayed that my brother would believe in my vision, and that we were to take our families, and that we were to travel to a distant land.
And it came to pass that I continued to pray, and I wast commanded to tell my sons, Galitari and Poshi of mine vision. And I didst obey the Lord God, and I didst tell them of the vision that I had received. And it came to pass that they did mock me greatly, and behold, I became angry, and attempted to strike them. And it came to pass that the Lord God sent an angel to withold my hand, and my sons beheld this angel, and repented. And I also did repent, for attempting violence, which I knew to be sin.
And it came to pass that my sons told my brother, whose name is Mareq, of their vision of the angel. And behold, my brother became angry, for he loved the land of Israel, and he attempted to smite them. And it came to pass that my sons fled his home and reported all that occurred to me. And behold, I became greatly distressed, and begged the Lord God to reveal the truth to Mareq as he did to my sons. And it came to pass that I fell into a deep sleep.
And behold, the Lord God sent me a dream where I walked along a golden path, and as I walked, the Lord said unto me, “Yankin, my son, my child, my servant! Listen!” And it came to pass that I did not listen and my back was still turned. And behold, the Lord again said, “Yankin, my son, my child, my servant! Listen!” And again, I continued to walk, not listening. And once more, the Lord said “Yankin, my son, my child, my servant! Listen!” And it came to pass that this time I turned around, and saw a light shining brightly in the sky, a light that burned my eyes. And the Lord God then said to me, “Behold, my son! Go forth and tell Mareq that ye must leave this land. For soon I will smite these peoples, and ye and thy family must leave this land to become safe.” And behold, I awoke, and did go forth and tell Mareq of what happened.
And behold, it came to pass that Mareq told me that he had a revelation of the Lord God, wherein the Lord God commanded him to follow me. And I, Yankin, was greatly shocked by this. And so I rejoiced and praised the Lord God with burnt offerings.
And so both me and my family did gather their belongings together, taking only what must be taken, for we all knew that this would be a long journey. And behold, the Lord God did promise us protection on this journey to a new land, a promised land. And it came to pass that my sons, and my brother, and our wives, did inquire of the Lord God as to what this land was like. And behold, the Lord God showed us a blinding white, and commanded us to cut many skins for clothes. And it came to pass that we were confused, for we knew no reason why we should have so much clothes. And it came to pass that the Lord God informed us that this was a land inhabited only by birds. And we were all sore confused.
And it came to pass that my sons, whose names are Galitari and Poshi, did grumble about the journey, and they did grumble about the birds, and they did grumble about the skins. And behold, the Lord God sent them an angel, and the angel appeared to them, and rebuked them, for they were disobedient and unruly. And my son Galitari did obey, and did repent for his sin. But behold, my other son, whose name is Poshi, did not repent, but became angry, and declared the angel a false messenger. And I became sad that my son Poshi did not believe the angel of God, and I begged the Lord God to have mercy on his soul. And behold, I had a vision where my son, whose name is Poshi, stood before the Lord God, and knelt before him, and was given a key, and a kingdom of white, and was told to rule over the expanse of the kingdom. And I was greatly confused.
And it came to pass that the Lord God commanded us to go south, to go down to the bottom of the land. And it came to pass that my son Poshi did continue to grumble. And behold, my brother Mareq and my son Galitari did both rebuke Poshi for his grumbles against the word of the Lord God. And it came to pass that Poshi was silent. And it came to pass that we took our belongings, and the skins which we had gathered, and the belongings which we needed. And we set off on the journey to the land which the Lord God had promised us.
And it came to pass that after we had traveled three days, we were thirsty, for it had been a day since we had drank any water. And my brother, whose name is Mareq, prayed for a stream of water to cool our tongues. And it came to pass that we continued our journey. And behold, we saw a stream of water, cool and clear, which pleased us greatly. And it came to pass that we did drink from the water, which was cool and clear. And we praised the Lord God for His tender mercies.
And it came to pass that we camped there for the night. And behold, I had a dream, which was given to me by the Lord God. And behold, the Lord God said to me, “Yankin, Yankin! I have chosen you before the foundation of the world, I have predestined you to be a prophet. And your name will be greatly venerated by all nations, and you will be regarded as the patriarch of a white land, a glorious land, a land of birds. Yankin, my son, my servant, go east now for two days. And my son, after you have completed this journey you will come upon a very small village. Supply yourself, and then go south.” And behold, I awoke, and it was dawn. And it came to pass that we continued our journey.
And after going east for two days, we came upon a small village, as the Lord God had told me. And the name of the village wast Bentiwi. And at the village of Bentiwi, we informed them of our visions, and our signs, and our prophecies, and our mission. And behold, many of them wished to come with us, and I inquired of the Lord God. And he told me that only one was to come with us. And behold, this one was a boy of the age of sixteen, whose name was Rewag. And Rewag bade his parents goodbye, and did provide us supplies, and joined our journey.
