I've been telling you guys that for a long time now. Most of his positions are closer to mine than to those of conservatives. He's a moderate who's more than willing to negotiate. If it weren't for a few huge problems, he'd be an ideal choice for president for me.

trump didn't have much to do with the crafting of this bill

most commentary on the right seems to think it was a plot to slit Ryan's throat

Anyone who thought Trump was conservative was just doing wishful thinking. His only advantage was that he was not Hillary.

Trumpcare failed because the Republicans thought Hillary would win. They didn't have a serious replacement plan ready to go even with 7 years to prepare it.

If the next bill is a classic Tea Party extreme conservative bill it would not have the support of the moderate Republicans.

Humpty Trumpity Health Care Plan sat on the White House Wall
The Humpy Trumpity Health Care Plan had great Fall in the Congress Hall
All the King Trump's horses and all the King Trump's men
Could not put the Humpy Trumpity Health Care Plan back together again.

The Tea Party bill is a straight repeal of Obamacare.

              No replacement.

              Non-negotiable.

Obama successfully deflected his failures on Bush. So that's not true, regardless of what the sign says. Then again you sound precisely like the kind of simple mind that thinks something he read on a sign somewhere is automatically true.

It's not just the 7 years they've been chanting "repeal and replace" for that they've had to come up with an actual replacement plan, they've had the last 30 years or more to come up with a plan of any kind for healthcare, and they just don't have one.

This is more than just super-embarrassing for them, it has exposed them as a party of losers and liars and they chant "repeal and replace" when they literally don't have, and have never had, a replacement. These are not serious people. These are not people who are interested in actually governing and passing laws. These are talking airheads who have no clue, who just know that they hate the democrats, and so are against Obamacare but are not for anything. Even the Republicans seem to acknowledge this in their post-Trumpcare press-conferences:
Paul Ryan: "We were a 10-year opposition party where being against things was easy to do. You just had to be against it."

                      GOP Rep Tom Rooney: "
"I hate him passionately", he's "a demonic force" - Tucker Carlson, in private, on Donald Trump
"Every line of serious work that I have written since 1936 has been written, directly or indirectly, against totalitarianism and for democratic socialism" - George Orwell
"[Capitalism] as it exists today is, in my opinion, the real source of evils. I am convinced there is only one way to eliminate these grave evils, namely through the establishment of a socialist economy" - Albert Einstein

It's easy to have plans when they just involve bribing people to vote for you/give you donations, which is the entire democratic party platform these days. Even Republicans can do that much. It just looksl ike failure because people expect better.

Trump isn't a moderate, Trump just has no clue. The health insurance bill he was going to sign into law was hardly moderate, nor do I believe Trump understood or cared what the hell was in the bill. He's neither conservative, liberal or moderate, he's an amoral empty vessell.

Trump had nothing to do with it because he's a liar and idiot. "who ever knew health insurance could be so hard." This he says after promising to get it done immediately upon taking office, how easy to pass and how great it will be he said, it will take care of everybody at much less cost. How many times does this con man have to straight out lie to his supporters before they snap out of their trance and realize that he is all talk, no substance.
