If the latter, I'm sure we will all readily concede that you yourself are not yet willing to concede this point, regardless of what others may be reporting. robrecht seems to be on this kick lately where he tries to catch people in "errors" by splitting hairs, ignoring nuance, and refusing to accept any further explanation.

This question makes no sense. Are you drunk?

his use of everybody is wrong, colloquial or otherwise.

He himself does this all the time and multiple people have pointed it out to him. i guess he's out for payback

Starlight! Apparently you have fallen into grievous error! It has come to our attention that indeed NOT everyone is in facct reporting this. Notably, Mountain Man and Darth Executor have not yet reported this. Thus, you are wrong, incorrect, and lying when you say falsely that everyone is reporting this. Please correct your errors and repent of such terrible misspeaking.

Apologies, it is merely being reported by at least 36 or so various mainstream ("fake") news organisations (list of links here).

I get that DE and MM had to wait to get their marching orders from Breitbart before being able to agree, but Breitbart are now reporting it too.

Very amusing, as is the entire Trump/Russian fiasco, in a grim sort of way. But not only does demanding immunity mean "you have probably committed a crime", but that you're getting immunity because there are bigger fish in the sea whom you can expose.

Yeah, this Mike Flynn thing is much ado about nothing. It's just your standard "My client will cooperate with your investigation in exchange for a reduced sentence" legal boilerplate. Basically, his lawyer is simply trying to ensure that nothing Flynn says, or that is said about him, can come back and bite him. People thinking that this will finally be the thing to bring Trump down are only setting themselves up for disappointment.

This is evidenced by how a gravely serious Wolf Blitzer rationalized spending precious air time by proclaiming that "Even though SNL deals in comedy, what they said about the President rings true for a lot of you, apparently. So, did the show accurately capture a mood, or did it go off track for comedic effect?" They weren't playing around here. They studiously dissected the jokes.

Similarly, the fact checkers at the Washington Post were also exceedingly serious a couple years later when SNL ran another skit that likewise poked fun at Obama. The jokes were solemnly examined an executive order of his dealing with immigration:

Source: SNL skit suggests Obama’s immigration executive action is unconstitutional

This skit got a couple of things right, and a couple of things wrong. For starters, Obama didn’t sign an executive order. He is taking executive action, in particular by directing the Department of Homeland Security to expand programs that defer deportation for classes of undocumented immigrants — parents of U.S. citizens or permanent-resident children, as well as undocumented immigrants brought to the country as children.

                          Source

You can look at the rest of the article yourself and try to tell me it was simply "trying to engage with a humorous skit and therefore was presumably also intended as light." CNN and the Washington Post were fact checking freaking comedy skits because they dared criticize Obama. I should also add that Zachary Goldfarb, the Post's policy editor, would later staunchly defend the paper's probe of the comedy skit for accuracy afterwards when it resulted in guffaws.

Complaining about the accuracy is one thing but were supposed top tier news organizations employing fact checkers to investigate the skits?

No. They were specifically going after Trump for expressing his opinion that Streep is "one of the most over-rated actresses in Hollywood" as the title of the piece ("FACT CHECK: Streep overrated? Trump picks a decorated star") indicates and the spirited defense of her evidences. It had nothing whatsoever to do with being a "playful but rather critical of Trump's tendency to get into stupid Twitter feuds." That is you just trying to spin the media's obsession with criticizing any and everything Trump says or does. And it isn't like he hasn't provided them with ammunition but these fact checks on Russian dressing and his opinion of Streep exposes just how far they'll go not to miss an opportunity.
They are doing the equivalent of what happens on TWEB when someone doesn't want to admit that the other person's analogy holds water. Instead of accepting the main point of the analogy and responding, or even admitting the other person is right, they will start attacking the analogy, nitpicking parts that don't correspond exactly with the point they are discussing in an effort to deflect. I find it hilarious to see the MSM using the same tactics as people use here on tweb. They want to seem so professional, but they are basically just as petty as people on the internet and facebook, arguing irrelevant points so they don't have to give an inch.

If you start watching the news and thinking "who would this be on tweb?" the motivations start to make a lot more sense.
