Glory Seed Devotional’s, 2017: Anticipating and Experiencing Jehovah-Jireh...
The Word of the LORD is for YOU!
Shalom!
“So one night the king of Aram sent a great army with many chariots and horses to surround the city. When the servant of the man of God got up early the next morning and went outside, there were troops, horses, and chariots everywhere. “Oh, sir, what will we do now?” the young man cried to Elisha. “Don’t be afraid!” Elisha told him. “For there are more on our side than on theirs!” Then Elisha prayed, “O Lord, open his eyes and let him see!” The Lord opened the young man’s eyes, and when he looked up, he saw that the hillside around Elisha was filled with horses and chariots of fire.” (2 Kings 6:14–17, NLT)
Does that scripture have a familiar ring to it? When was the last time you found yourself overwhelmed and surrounded by an “army” of negativity and you found yourself on a battlefield fighting hopelessness? Are you there now? Do you have that sinking feeling negativity is gathering around you right now? Are the words, “Oh, sir, what will we do now” on your lips forming in you now?
If those scenarios do have a family ring then let me play the part of Elisha and ask the LORD to open your eyes because all around you is God’s army, not an army of horses and chariots of fire but an army of words, but not just any words an army of 747,891 Words of God (in the NLT bible) waiting to rescue you from any and all enemies. And the good news gets better and better because according to Luke, “For the word of God will never fail.” (Luke 1:37, NLT) And the Psalmist adds, “For the word of the Lord holds true, and we can trust everything he does.” (Psalm 33:4, NLT)
The Word of the LORD is not only for ministers, pastors, teachers, theologians, the Word of the LORD is especially for those who find themselves facing an army of negativism.
“Faith isn’t hoping for the best life has to offer, Faith is anchoring oneself to the Best God has to offer!”
Grace and PEACE,
Gary
