Re: Is Baptism a Requirement for Salvation?

Eph_4:5 One Lord, one faith, one baptism,
Only One imortant baptism for us that is a Must1 It done by the HOLY GHOST!

Act_1:5 For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence.
Act_2:4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

i Believe if we can ? we should get water baptised ! but it not a must for salvation! Salvation is a free gift ! We just accept what HE already Did ! and Him Lord from our heart [Spirit] !
It Not about what we Do ! It about what He already did for US ! He paid the full price ! We pay Nothing ! We just accept Him as LORD from our heart [Spirit] and His gospel as truth !

      1Co 15:3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
1Co 15:4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

He only changes the Spiritual body we are ! He does not change our flesh ! It returns to the earth it came from ! Only our spirit goes to heaven or hell? We decide that !

Rom_7:18 For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing:

1Co_15:50 Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.

It only the spiritual things that count forever more ! Not the flesh things !

2Co_4:18 While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.

I understand most see all things fleshly or carnal ! But that not the eternal things !

1Co_1:17 For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect.

Salvation can be anytime as a baby or on our death bed!

Rom_5:15 But not as the offence, so also is the free gift. For if through the offence of one many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many.
Rom_5:16 And not as it was by one that sinned, so is the gift: for the judgment was by one to condemnation, but the free gift is of many offences unto justification.
Rom_5:18 Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life.

This is all it takes for Salvation !
Rom 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
Rom 10:10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation

Rom_6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

this show all babies go to heaven without water baptizing !
Rom_9:11 (For the children being not yet born, neither having done any good or evil, that the purpose of God according to election might stand, not of works, but of him that calleth;)
Eph_2:9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.

and all those He freed from hell never got water batized there either!
Hope this helps someone see the truth ! Our flesh is doomed 1 it only our spirit Once born of God that can be His Holy perfect child !

Act_2:29 Men and brethren, let me freely speak unto you of the patriarch David, that he is both dead and buried, and his sepulchre is with us unto this day.

Act_13:36 For David, after he had served his own generation by the will of God, fell on sleep, and was laid unto his fathers, and saw corruption:
Means HIS body rotted away ! but we see those in heaven Now ! Have there new bodies ! they wear robes , sing , raise there hands ! and more ! it not about our weak sin filled bodies! He did not die to make them perfect 1 They are all part of the earth and it gets destoryed 100% ! We never die1 Our spirit ! It does ! Joh_11:26 And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?

      ?
This has been a long thread which long ago basically was exhausted, but the nature of your comments compel a response. While as i long ago argued on this thread, i agree baptism does not make one born again, but the faith that is expressed by it appropriates justification, God-given faith being counted for righteousness, and that it is at time one is born again. Thus souls were born again and forgiven before they were baptized. (Acts 10:43-47; 15:7-9) The faith that justifies is a faith that confesses the Lord in word and in deed, baptism normatively being the first formal expression of that, which is consistent in principle with,

"That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. " (Romans 10:9-10)

Baptism is a confession of Christ in body language, and can be the occasion when one becomes born again.

However, it is your comments on infants being saved that i object to. Rom_9:11 pertains to election, in which some are predestined to salvation and others to damnation, but while the elect can be considered saved from eternity, they must receive that salvation by faith, and as Reformers taught, it is a faith that will effect obedience towards the Lord.

As for infants being saved, the issue is whether they need to be. For it is contrary to God's own teaching on His jurisprudence in which damnation is based upon what souls have chosen to do, by commission and omission, (Jn. 3:18,36; Mt. 25:41-46; Rv. 20:11-15) not what their fathers did. (2Kg. 14:5-6; 2Chron. 25:4; Jer. 1:29-30; Ezek. 18:20) even though we are affected by them.

We are all Born into SIN ! Our Flesh is sinful at it beginning! You undersrtand ? Sin is passed by Mankind in His seed ! It always the seed that reveals the beginning of everything !
That why Jesus was Born Perfect , He grow in a imperfect body , But the SEEd was of GOD ! Just as our New being is Born of the Perfect SEED !
1Pe_1:23 Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.
Hope this helps ? This is what i believe !

It GOD perfect will that all be Saved ! He died that all could be ! But satan has tricked many to refuse HIS FREE GIFT of Salvation !
Faith always takes a Action 1 We do two at salvation ! we accept His gospel and His as LORd ! Many do not understand ? He LOVES US MORE than we LOVE ourselves!
2Pe_3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
That Why HE gives us All faith ! WE MUST All Remember GOD IS LOVE !LOVE Gives MERCY1 He LOVES greater than any of us truly understand !

Re: Is Baptism a Requirement for Salvation?

Baptism by immersion for the remission of sins is required for one to enter in at the strait gate

      Matthew 7:14

14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

Jesus, who knew no sin, suffered himself to be baptized by water to set an example and teach us the true path to righteousness.

      John 3:5
5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

For a man or woman to become a member of the church of Jesus Christ, he must receive baptism by water and by the laying on of hands for the gift of the Holy Ghost by one having authority in the priesthood.

      Acts 2:38
38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

You realize, don't you, that this verse says nothing about the "requirements" for entering in?

Jesus, who knew no sin, suffered himself to be baptized by water to set an example and teach us the true path to righteousness.
He also suffered the shame of the cross.
      2 Tim 2:1-2

Thou therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.
