Deeper Waters Forum Guidelines

Notice – The ministries featured in this section of TheologyWeb are guests of this site and in some cases not bargaining for the rough and tumble world of debate forums, though sometimes they are. Additionally, this area is frequented and highlighted for guests who also very often are not acclimated to debate fora. As such, the rules of conduct here will be more strict than in the general forum. This will be something within the discretion of the Moderators and the Ministry Representative, but we simply ask that you conduct yourselves in a manner considerate of the fact that these ministries are our invited guests. You can always feel free to start a related thread in general forum without such extra restrictions. Thank you.

Deeper Waters is founded on the belief that the Christian community has long been in the shallow end of Christianity while there are treasures of the deep waiting to be discovered. Too many in the shallow end are not prepared when they go out beyond those waters and are quickly devoured by sharks. We wish to aid Christians to equip them to navigate the deeper waters of the ocean of truth and come up with treasure in the end.

We also wish to give special aid to those often neglected, that is, the disabled community. This is especially so since our founders are both on the autism spectrum and have a special desire to reach those on that spectrum. While they are a special emphasis, we seek to help others with any disability realize that God can use them and that they are as the Psalmist says, fearfully and wonderfully made.

Yep. I remember doing that. I still sometimes do that with people on Facebook, but after several years, it can get boring to answer same-old, same-old, but I can say for sure when I get to seminary studying apologetics, I think I was way ahead of many others because of TheologyWeb.

A bit presumptuous aren't we? Maybe he's one of the trees in the background.

        That's possible.

Alternatively he could also be one of the ticks that are living on the horses.

That's true. I could easily picture CP as a blood-sucking organism.

Who is the blue-haired character in his avatar? And why that cartoon character. Better than a fuscia horse, but inquiring minds want to know. Also, Chrawnus, you rock. It's always great to see someone who is so in touch with Biblical scholarship and apologetics on this forum. You're a rare breed (and that wasn't a pony pun).

                The character is Gintoki Sakata.

Hmm. Interesting. Sounds Japanese. So, what's his deal? I'm assuming some sort of anime character....?

Man, it's been way too long since I've taken a peek at CTT. That was probably my favorite site before TWeb came along.

Yes indeed. From Gintama. He is an interesting one. A washed up former samurai from a war involving aliens based on the real life meiji revolution. He was a beast in battle, but he realized the war was lost. He then became an odd jobs guy. He drinks enough strawberry milk to survive bone crushing blows and parodies just about every anime in existence.

Huh. Okay then. Does that make Chrawnus a weaboo then? And if so, what exactly is a weaboo? I know it has something to do with people obssessed with Japanese cartoons, but not sure what that has to do with Christian apologetics.

First, you'd have to turn the picture around.
The first to state his case seems right until another comes and cross-examines him.

Please tell us how Mary can traced to David. Thanks.

The way I understand it there is a difference between liking anime a lot, and a weaboo. A weaboo is someone who sees Japan as superior to their own culture, and tries to adopt it for themselves.

If so, weaboo would be a Nipponophile, and most likely a person that Japanese people find a bit scary.
