Re: The TektonTV Thread
I see they're enjoying the mirror over there, UKC.

Snooore...compared to what they would have gotten that was foodstuffs -- grains in storage, and animals (their products as well as their meat) to just select the most immediate examples -- the gold, iron, vessels (most of which would HOLD food or water and therefore be counted among the food spoils), clothes (those worth taking! most of it would have been rags) and tools would have been negligible. A single calf can weigh 500 pounds and that by itself outweighs the gold take he notes. Again, this is the kind of ignorance you only get from being a fundy atheist. Good answer you gave, UKC.

Duh hah...And if you pull the ITT card, I recommend that you read what happened to the infant males just before the virgins were divided. These babies weren't treated as humans; why should I expect the virgins to be?
I suggest he get a clue. I use the KJV because it has no copyright issues. And what is at 2:10 is intended as a parody of his argument.I suggest you look at 2:10 of the video "Public Service Announcement v2" and tell me which version of the bible he quotes. You can apologize to me later if you want.
No it isn't. He was sending messages after I told him not to. Sending messages to someone who doesn't want them is one method of spamming. End of discussion. He claims he blocked me because I was spamming. However, he knows it to be a lie.

He obviously doesn't read anything.

Here's a temporary fun one I just thought up a couple of hours ago while driving home from USDA training. It too will go down later.

Re: The TektonTV Thread
Something else: Iron was hardly plentiful and would have been used mainly for things like plows and swords -- the former of which would have tended to be shared as community property. The clown is arguing as though all they had to do was drop by Wal-Mart and get stuff like gold and iron. Uh, no -- it had to be dug out of the ground, and that was hard, hard work; and that means that what they had was created from whatever they could find out in the open. Mining as such was nothing like it was now; they had no way to dig out large amounts of anything, not to the scale we do, and it also meant labor -- which in Roman times was done by slaves and prisoners, but that was not much of an option for the mostly agrarian Hebrews or Canaanites. Chances are most of their gold and iron and other metals were filched or traded off from the Egyptians or some larger power.
Keep in mind also, it took ALL the gold earrings owned by Israel (which means, allowing for "ALL" as typical hyperbole for their expression, you still had most of the population contributing) to make the golden calf; and that thing can't have been too large since they didn't have the means necessary for large-scale smelting and crafting.
No, clown...they didn't just go down to Jared's and buy jewelry.
Back tomorrow.

That is because they think that using a bunch of 4-5 letter words makes them intelligent. I mean, look at the little insect that decided to post their opinion while making a grammar error.
(I'll leave it up to her to figure out where at.)
Oh, the 3rd grade spelling and grammar started long before lolcats was around. Just wait until you run into somebody that writes like it should belong in a lolcat picture. Just check out some of them on JPH's comments on his video's today:
AuntieDiluvian:
Your attempts to discredit Crazy Pills are like god's attempts to conquer iron charriots - fail.
That one isn't too bad, it just contains one logical fail with two grammar errors and a theology fail to go on top of it, but I've seen worse.Last edited by lilpixieofterror; May 8th 2012 at 06:39 PM.

CS Lewis, Mere ChristianityThere is no need to be worried by facetious people who try to make the Christian hope of 'Heaven' ridiculous by saying they do not want 'to spend eternity playing harps'. The answer to such people is that if they cannot understand books written for grown-ups, they should not talk about them.
Check out the blog: Per theologyWeb's overlords, I am required to warn you of profanity in some of the comment threads on my blog.

Re: The TektonTV Thread
So very true. I had one guy complain that "thou shalt not kill" was far too ambiguous, I had to tell him that it was referring to murder, and not killing in general. I also told him that if he had even looked at other parts of the Bible(like how animal sacrifice was something done on a regular basis, or the wars they were commanded to fight) that he would know this.

Got this pm:
Heh, I do appreciate the joke and I thanked him for it!I am a fellow christian who watchess your videos as theya re liked by people who i am subscribed to. Now you seem to be a smart guy, I have problem with the manner in which you address atgheists espceically crazy pills. Now crazy pills is not a "fundie atheist" he is a educated smart man who deserves a level of respect. now the bes twya to apporach him in my nopinion is to present scholars and what they say and theen cited them. THen ask crazy pills to do the same and then you both look over each others sources and then its up to the audience who is corrrect. THis behvaiour of him being a clown seems unproductive and at worst counterpordcutive to any sort of rational dialogue bwtween beleivers and non-believers.
EDIT: I checked his profile. He's a Unitarian heretic, not a Christian. That explains it all.Last edited by jpholding; May 9th 2012 at 06:34 AM.

Funny, this guy actually thinks crazypills2 is making reasonable points...
Unitarian eh? That belief fails theologically and philosophically. I have a friend who has been researching into something called "Oneness Theology". That must be some crazy (pun intended) stuff those guys are smoking. I think a failure to understand the English language is a huge portion of some of the failings a lot of people make in regards to the Bible. Sad, considering it wasn't written in English originally.
