      Re: Literal Donkey Dialogue?

OK, here's my problem: Donkeys don't have enough intelligence to carry on a sensible conversation. God would have to do more than "open the mouth" of the donkey. He would have to give the donkey intelligence and then presumably remove it after the conversation. I would find that somewhat troublesome. Of course God can do anything. But this one seems unlikely.

Now I'm aware that God sometimes does things that I would consider unlikely, so I don't rule out the possibility. But perhaps this is some story teller's way of driving how how unperceptive Balaam was being.

However there's one other possibility: God could give the impression that the donkey was talking. That's more plausible. It's not uncommon for God to communicate with people. There are a number of cases reported of God appearing in a human-like form, to interact with people. If he really wanted to make Balaam understand how stupid he was being, communicating using the donkey might be just the ticket. It suggests a God with a sense of humor.

If God can create the universe out of nothing and raise Jesus from the dead, than I'm sure making a donkey talk using comprehensible language isn't too hard for Him.

      Amen...
When it comes to my faith, I am neither Protestant, Catholic, Pentecostal, Baptist, Charismatic, or Christadelphian; Calvinist, nor any other denomination. I am an equal opportunity believer. I believe the bible every opportunity I get.

If you advocate it, and I can find it in the Bible: On that particular issue; that is what denomination I am. If I cannot find it, then I am some other denomination. My goal is to seek doctrinal inconsistencies and contradictions where ever I find them, and question them to death...
