Then Morgoth turned upon Húrin, and he said: 'Fool, little among Men, and they are the least of all that speak! Have you seen the Valar, or measured the power of Manwë and Varda?
Do you know the reach of their thought? Or do you think, perhaps, that their thought is upon you, and that they may shield you from afar?'
'I know not,' said Húrin. 'Yet so it might be, if they willed. For the Elder King shall not be dethroned while Arda endures.'

An Anti-screwball for XKCD possibly? Meh, its not like he really catches just how similar they really are, but... http://xkcd.com/774/
"If fighting is sure to result in victory then you must fight!" Sun Tsu said that, and I'd say he knows a little more about fighting than you do pal because he invented it! And then he perfected it so that no living man can best him on the ring of honor! Then he used his fight money to buy two of every animal on earth, and then he herded them onto a boat, and then he BEAT THE CRAP OUT OF EVERY SINGLE ONE! Ehehehehehehehehehe. And from that day forward anytime a bunch of animals are together in one place it's called a 'zoo!' Unless it's a farm!

What is it with retards who think they must be extra-specific like that? Jimbo likes to talk about "atrocities" by the so-called Christian God, and this talks about murders of the Biblical God. We get the point, you know. If your audience is Western, we probably automatically assume it's Yahweh.

Re: October 2010 Screwballs
The problem with stupid arguments like in the cartoon is one of equivocation; God has and does kill, but it is never murder. Murder is a crime committed by man against man. Furthermore it does not acknowledge that it sometimes lawful for someone to take the life of another person. I have yet to hear one credible argument that establishes man's authority to legislate God's behaviour or to show an extant law that successfully shows God is in its scope.
So in short this kind of flaccid rhetoric is little more than a straw man.
JLather, rinse, repeat.

Re: October 2010 Screwballs
Anti-Screwball to users on TGWTG for this response to a troll on one of Linkara's videos:
The troll said:
One user responded:"They worshipped a great and powerful god, and they loved their god more than their daughter" - sounds like most Christian fundamentalists.
Troll:Sounds like fundamentalist or militant ANYTHING (be it Christian or Buddhist or Muslim or Jewish or Atheist). When the ideology or message becomes more important than concern for others, that sort of thing'll happen in any venue.
User (krodd):Atheists don't worship any gods and neither do many sects of Buddhism
Troll angrily retorts:Nope. But they certainly do have an all consuming ideology which serves the same purpose (thus my point). In the end said ideology, can do (and has done) the same thing.
In the end, all militants and fundamentalists are the same be they secular or religious.
To which another user (an Agnostic) says the following:Nice Golden Mean fallacy. When the last time you've heard of Buddhists starting a religious war?
Actually....
In the 17th century, the fifth Dalai Lama supported a Holy War against his rivals in the order.
In the present day, political extremists using Buddhism (or rather a militant variant thereof) as their rallying belief engage in guerrilla warfare in Tibet in order to restore the former religious rule under the Dalai Lama.
..and that's just for starters. I suggest you give "Buddhist Warfare" By Michael Jerryson and Mark Juergensmeyer, a read.
See? Just like any other militant or fundamentalist or extremist, militant Buddhists focus so much on the ideology that they forget what matters...even when what they forget is the most important thing to the faith they claim to profess.
This is one of the reasons why I'm an Agnostic: in the end all ideologies can end up doing the same thing, it doesn't matter if they're religious or secular."Weinberg's statement is true as far as it goes, but it is not the whole truth. To make it the whole truth, we must add an additional clause: 'And for bad people to do good things—that [also] takes religion.' The main point of Christianity is that it is a religion for sinners. Jesus made that very clear. When the Pharisees asked his disciples, "Why eateth your Master with publicans and sinners?" he said, "I come to call not the righteous but sinners to repentance." Only a small fraction of sinners repent and do good things but only a small fraction of good people are led by their religion to do bad things."

Screwball to little_monkey in this thread for saying that Hitler was a devout Catholic and pulled a quote from Mein Kampf. I said:
LM responds:You realize Mein Kampf was published to be widely read among the people of Germany? Do you think Hitler would go against hundreds of years of Christian heritage for all of Germany to read? Do you really believe politicians mean what they say when they speak to the public?
That's exactly the point I'm trying to make, doofus. It is more likely that he put up with the religion for expedient reasons. Nonetheless the church did very little to oppose him, and in certain circumstances, enabled him to get to power.
