The Judeo-Christian god?
...says Christopher31, is entirely responsible for the condition of his creation. (From: Your god gave children cancer ...post #430 )
There are two aspects to this idea: The Judeo-Christian god, is entirely responsible for the condition of his creation , which I believe are plain and simple, bad theology.
1. The idea of a 'Judeo-Christian god'
2. The idea that 'The Judeo-Christian god (or any of the variables -ie. God of Israel, Jewish God, Christian God, God of the New Testament, God of the Old Testament ), is entirely responsible for the condition of creation.
Though we want to put the God of Christianity and the God of Judaism, in the same crib, the point is that though we both admit to having 'One God', the similarities begin to move further and further apart as we get into the details. Hence the idea of Judeo-Christian god, is bad theology.
The second part to this is a little more complicated, and that is why I have enlisted your help. I guess, I have studied so much on this subject in the past, that my thoughts resemble a jungle-gym, and I don't even know where to begin. However, I do know that God is Sovereign, and that nothing escapes his sight, but I also know that God will have not part in sin, except in that God has atoned for our sin in Christ.
I look forward to your insights, and hope that it will not tax you too much, to have Christopher31 baying at my fiery hooves.
Over to you then, wizards of Theo.
