Female - ChristianWhat to Feed Large Groups of Kids That Aren't Yours
Don't ask me why anyone would ask me this but they did. Drawing on my less than huge entertaining experience and having helped cook for 100 or more on many occasions, I propose the following:
Spaghetti. Make a stock pot of sauce and a bowl of garlic butter and you're pretty much set. The pasta and toast can be made on demand. Pre-cut the veggies and the kids can tear up the lettuce if you decide that something healthy should be involved and therefore include salad.
Pizza. Self-explanatory - in the freezer section. Salad can even be added if you really are determined to have something that is arguably nutritious...
Burgers. See the freezer section unless you really like making patties the hard way. Make it easy on yourself and assume that the ketchup, lettuce and tomato count as veggies and that french fries are close enough (bake 'em if you just have to be healthy about it).
Fried chicken. They'll eat it and so will your wallet. Baked beans are lentils... sorta. Potato salad has veggies in it. Biscuits are bread - it's a well rounded meal! Yeah, yeah - just pretend, will ya?
Personally, I'd go with the spaghetti - easy, cheap and will fill up almost any small gastronomic abyss...

Hot dogs
Mac and cheese
Any kind of vegetable. If it's not corn they probably aren't going to eat it anyway so you don't need to cook much.I have been honored as an Enemy of Nee™ and LAu Tzu hasn't!

Seriously, though...in my experience, Asian foods such as sushi platters or fried rice are among the most popular delicacies.

....well based on the title of this thread...."...Kid's that Aren't Yours"
I highly recommend substantial amounts of sugar and caffeine. If you don't have to do the clean up....chocolate fountain, loads of fun for anyone not having to take the kids home, wash their clothes, or clean up the place after. It is impossible to defeat an ignorant man in argument. - William G. If they're coming to your house and you don't want them back, I suggest gruel.

they're coming to my house next Sunday (i haven't called yet and it's too short of notice for this Sunday). it's a couple with 6 kids we met in our old neighborhood, they're a nice family, they came to my daughters party and it if it weren't for their family my house would've been empty. we've moved this summer to a different borough.
i don't have a hostess personality, i'm not awkward or shy and i'm relaxed b/c it is my home and they are nice people but i just like to hang out at home, i don't mind my antisocialness, but since i have kids i feel the need to expose them to people so they wont remember me as a hermit. usually if i have people over it'll be my sister, but my husband wants us to keep contact with this family and they are nice people so i'll make the effort. at least we have a big yard i can tell the kids to get lost in.
