As a 'liberal', and more importantly as a person, I fundamentally support equal rights for all people. And so, of course, I support "feminism" in the historical meaning of "equality for women".
However, modern "3rd wave feminism" I usually find down-right completely stupid and tend to just laugh at it and ignore it. I know a lot of conservatives on this site like to take jabs at modern feminism and IMO they're usually completely right to do so, as so often modern feminist discussions are devoid of facts and full of extreme amounts of over the top outrage, emotion, and bias, combined with ridiculous theories of how society works that someone has made up themselves and never actually tested in the slightest. (It's worth noting that male liberal atheists mocking feminists for their over the top outrage and ridiculous arguments is so common on the internet that it's sort of a thing)
So I was pleasantly surprised at encountering an article this week where a feminist makes sense, and says scientific and intelligent things, for the whole article. It's worth reading in its entirety, and I would encourage conservatives here to do so, simply so that people gain an appreciation that there are sane feminists out there, and that talking about the biological differences between men and women can be done in a rational and reasoned manner by feminists at least in some instances. This is one of those Black Swan moments, so it's worth appreciating.
Here is the article:
A Feminist Biologist Discusses Gender Differences In The Animal Kingdom:
It's an interesting article about how human sexual distinctions differ to animal sexual distinctions if nothing else (spoiler: human sexual differences aren't as extreme as animal ones).
