The other movie I liked was the "The Last Temptation of Christ." It was well done and well acted, though certainly heretical.

Heretical beats well-acted in my mind.

I hated that one, and I hated Godspell. And Greatest Story Ever Told, and King of Kings.

Jesus of Nazareth is one of the better ones, but there are still so many errors in it that it's not good if you want accuracy. The Passion certainly brings the suffering and torment of the Lord to the forefront, and for that I don't mind it. However, it is too "Catholic".

I will stick with the Book.

Risen has some history issues but the story and perspective are phenomenal. Seeing things from a Romans poverty instead of the disciples makes his search more relate able and Jesus here is done well. I saw it with my grandparents.
