      And I just read an article today that the US is now offering a $2 bil arms deal to the Pakistanis now. So the 911 terrorists were Saudis and we make arms deals with the Saudis. Bin Laden is supposedly living comfortably in Pakistan and we make arms deals with the Pakistanis. Iraq had absolutely nothing to do with 911 and we leave their country decimated. I don't know, man. When I think I have this stuff pegged and can see a predictable outcome, they throw me for a loop.

      The Saudis are our valued allies. That the 9-11 crowd was mostly Saudi is irrelevant to that. That's like attacking Armenia because the Khardashians are Armenian.

      I wonder if you'd have that same sentiment if Bush/Cheney were in office today. Too bad we'll never know.

      i just think the bigger picture is: if 9-11 never happened, would there be/have been , enough public support for the afghan and iraq war. i would doubt so.

      Only thing you can really argue is that they, as well as the corporate military defense complex which has made a multi-billion dollar killing in the last decade, got lucky, and both Bush and Obama are using this same lucky card to keep the nation in the grips of fear, with Obama now expanding similar military campaigns in the Middle East for reasons we are not being told, which is not only deteriorating our international reputation, but killing us both morally and economically as a nation.

      Putting myself in the shoes of a US Statesman, I have to be inclined that Saudi Arabia is a highly valued military and economic Ally. Last time I checked, Saudi Arabia still continues to hunt down anyone affiliated with Al-Qaida.

      Then again, in the world of international politics, at least, most of the world at least... Consistency is not exactly a valued virtue. =/ By that reckoning, selling arms to Saudi Arabia is still fair game, after all, cash is cash.

      You say that like that's a bad thing.

      The Iraq War was never justified or warranted.

      Afghanistan has always been a horse of different color. Lefty women in particular had been advocating conquering it to get rid of the gender apartheid there long before 9-11.

      Perhaps I should have said Armenian-American instead.

      i never said either were warranted. the only reason i could see any warrant would be to bolster the pockets of certain special interest groups or to help the global economy. i dont think lefty women have the means to convince the president and us populace to invade.

      <Sarcasm>

      I thought the Cardassians (to correct your erroneous spelling), were from Cardassia Prime in the Alpha Quadrant.

      Now you tell me the spoonheads are from Earth?

      This is a fair warning to those sarcastically impaired the preceding text was written in jest.

      True, but, if i were to trust the propaganda about islam, any given islamic nation wants to conquer us and instate sharia law. plus they 'hate our freedoms', whatever that means.

      if saudi arabia is indeed a muslim nation, how do we know if they are/not selling our weapons to dubious groups of people?

      selling arms to Saudi Arabia is still fair game, after all, cash is cash

      well, until we live to regret it.
