We are such a colossal community, and seeing as my candle was nearly blown out at fifty, I kinda felt a strange chill. Goodbye Sir, though I never new you, I hope you made it home safe. Peace, Eric.

Re: Goodbye FormerFundy
When someone you perceive as being lost passes away it is never an easy thing. It is my understanding when he was 18 he really professed trusting Christ as savior.
I know it is God who does the saving and does the keeping (John 10:27, 28.) Since salvation is not a matter of merit on our part in any way (John 1:13.). And it is my understanding God does take some believers home because of some kinds of sin (1 John 5:17.).
But the primary reason one departs from the teachings of Christ, is for not ever really coming to know God (2 John 9; John 17:3. 1 John 5:9-13.)
What I understood from him was his professed chief difficulty came to be with the substitutionary redemption of Christ as not being moral thing at all. The problem to him being someone who is just dying for the unjust as not a just thing to do in any way.

Truth originates with God.
Belief originates with truth.
Reason is based in one's beliefs.
"There is no wisdom nor understanding nor counsel against the Self Existent Existence." -- Proverbs 21:30.
"For in him we live, and move, and have our being; . . . " -- The Apostle Paul - Acts 17:28.
". . . the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; . . ." -- Romans 1:16.
". . . the gospel . . . how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures: . . . " -- 1 Corinthians 15:1-4.
"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. " -- John 3:16.
". . . as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the children of God, even to them that believe on his name: Who were born, not . . . of the will of man, but of God." -- John 1:12, 13.
"Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God: . . ." -- 1 John 5:1.
". . . and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more. " -- Hebrews 8:12.

The biggest suckage about not being around is that you miss this kind of news. Forgive the thread necromancy but allow me to say, RIP friend.
"Mere mechanical infallibility is but a poor substitute for a plenary Inspiriation, which finds its expression in the right relation between partial human knowledge and absolute Divine truth." (Introduction to the Study of the Gospels, Westcott, p.41).
Poverty is not only low income and no assets. It is a condition of exclusion from the institutions and organizations of modern life. In many countries law courts, banks, education, health services, roads, water, electricity, even respect, are not available to the poor.
