Try to keep it civil though. The rules still apply here.

  • There is nothing like...

There is nothing like watching people who profess a belief in democracy getting upset over populism.
Actually YOU put Trump in the White House. He wouldn't have gotten 1% of the vote if it wasn't for the widespread spiritual and cultural devastation caused by progressive policies. There's no "this country" left with your immigration policies, your "allies" are worthless and even more suicidal than you are and democracy is a sick joke that I hope nobody ever thinks about repeating when the current order collapses. - Darth_Executor striking a conciliatory note in Civics 101

Oh no! The people are voting in their own interest... It's the end of democracy.

Well I am an advocate of voting for what is best for the nation, state, or municipality. If I actively vote against the best for my area I am not really voting in my own interest, except in the shortest of terms. Voting oneself benefits is part of the downfall of our republic.

. . . because populism from the right and the left opposes democracy.

Well that's sad to see happen. For anyone genuinely concerned about the well-being of others, it's always sad to see people making their lives worse for themselves out of ignorance.

Yes, how dare people think for themselves! They should let liberals do the thinking for then. You know, for their own good.

On this rare occasion I agree with Starlight. When I vote I vote for what I think is best for the nation (or local governments) as a whole, even if it does not add the most to me personally.

Er, sorry. I've just spotted I misread your comment as "The people are voting against their own interests...". LOL. Ignore my previous comment!

                        You misspelt 'brietbart' as 'liberals'.

you dont habve to be conservative to be christian. Jimmy Carter was very liberal, yet his strong christian beliefs followed him all the way to the white house.

Christianity and liberalism are mutually exclusive. The latter was shaped in large part to destroy the former.
