The situation between North Korea and South Korea
Attack on South Korean island:
"The attack, which comes days after it emerged that North Korea was pressing ahead with its illegal nuclear programme, marks a serious further escalation of tensions on the Korean Peninsula.
The incident is believed to have been sparked by South Korean military exercises in the area, which the North had objected to.
Officials said “dozens” of artillery rounds had landed on Yeonpyeong Island at in the Yellow Sea, 50 miles off the South’s northwest coast in an area close to a disputed sea border. Other reports suggested around 200 shells could have been fired in the attack which began at 2.34pm local time (7.34am GMT)."

I wonder what's going to happen next. Will this be one of the breaking points where another war will break out? Will it be like the other incidents and a lot of talk will happen without any action? I mean, they're building up their military powers for a reason. And South Korea says that it will not play nice next time... I think it's almost inevitable.
What do other people think?Let us therefore make every effort to do what leads to peace and to mutual edification - Romans 14:6

Re: The situation between North Korea and South Korea
This is terrible and really affects all countries: a very real worry.
I think China really has to step up at long last and do something not just posturing, as always. China appears to be the only country that could bring any political outcome with this disgusting governament. Alas, China has very strong reasons why they do not want to interfere.
Also I believe the whole disaster will die a "natural political death" as always. Shame on us all!!!!!
All countries are really worried about their weapon capabilities and the change in their political leaders is a concern.

Re: The situation between North Korea and South Korea
The South Korean "response" was a joke...as was when the North previously sank the South's submarine in early 2010.
The South knows this so any further provocation by the North may lead to massive retaliation. With Kim Jong-Un at the helm it may not be that long until that happens (?)
