  • Obama To Occupy Wall Street!

    Well kind of...

Obama’s $400,000 Cantor Speech Makes Him Wall Street's Newest Fat Cat

When he was president he called them “fat cats,” but now he’s likely thanking them for a huge payday.

Former President Barack Obama, less than 100 days out of office, has agreed to speak at a Wall Street conference run by Cantor Fitzgerald LP, senior people at the firm confirm to FOX Business. His speaking fee will be $400,000, which is nearly twice as much as Hillary Clinton, his secretary of state, and the 2016 Democratic Party candidate, charged private businesses for such events.

Obama has agreed to speak at Cantor’s health care conference in September and will be the keynote luncheon speaker for one day during the event, people at the firm tell FOX Business. These people say Obama has signed the contract, but the company, a mid-sized New York-based investment bank, is waiting to coordinate with the former president before making a formal announcement.

Maybe he can use Hillary for his warmup act! Her speaking fee price has plummeted. He could get her CHEAP!

I heard the other day that the Clinton Foundation is having serious money issues. I guess donations have dried up now that people realize that there will be no quid pro quo in return.

I'm always still in trouble again

And this speech to Wall St is coming hot on the heels of him spending his time since his presidency on holidays with billionaires.

And some people actually tried to pretend Obama was "progressive", rather than the center-right President he so obviously was.

The Democrats haven't been meaningfully progressive for years, they're merely the least worst option in a 2 party system.

Although I suppose it's not a bad price to hear a President speak in structured sentences for the first time in over 100 days.

More seriously, under Obama's Administration, millions of Americans were rapidly pushed through foreclosure and bankruptcy, while the very rich bankers who made $$$$$ helping to create the disaster were let off scot-free and got to keep their money. So when, shortly after leaving office, Obama takes huge sums of money from Wall Street bankers for effectively nothing - no-one actually cares what will be in the speech - it's seen for what it is, Obama getting paid for services rendered. Payments Obama will have known he could expect all along.

But as I said originally- merely the least worst option, if the other choice is a Republican. I often hear people don't for FOR parties in the US, they vote AGAINST them. It's turning that way here in the U.K. actually, so America isn't unique in this.

compared to you, every democrat is "center-right"

I think he was more center-left. He is definitely liberal but he did have some conservative moments.

I could kiss you right now. And this is to be expected, and which I warned people about, because the Chicago (where I live) political machine produces conservative Democrats. Hence, this is why Arne Duncan, an ardent school choice advocate, was Obama's secretary of education; it's why, if you follow Chicago news, the wretched and evil liberal Rahm Emmanuel has repeated attacked public unions (of all sorts) and been closely allied with the governor, Republican Bazillionaire and professional half-wit Bruce Rauner.

It's sad that conservatism has apparently been reduced to a certain position in bureaucratic management according to people like you.

Oh well, I'm not a conservative and I won't miss conservatism when it's gone. Heil Hitler!

It doesn't get much more "progressive" than rubbing elbows with Wall Street billionaires. Some of the richest people in America are liberals.

Although I find it interesting that you equate wealth with conservatism. I wonder why that is?
