Woot, woot. Now to research this puppy and see if they're still using that crappy, ancient mess of a game engine. Please comment below with your predictions about game bugs.

Then Morgoth turned upon Húrin, and he said: 'Fool, little among Men, and they are the least of all that speak! Have you seen the Valar, or measured the power of Manwë and Varda?
Do you know the reach of their thought? Or do you think, perhaps, that their thought is upon you, and that they may shield you from afar?'
'I know not,' said Húrin. 'Yet so it might be, if they willed. For the Elder King shall not be dethroned while Arda endures.'

Gotta love "no in-game footage" trailers and teasers. Tough to gage how a game may turn out otherwise.

Yup, but the mere news of the game's creation is enough for excitement.

Sounds like it may be a new engine:
LinkBethesda community manager Nick Breckon recently tweeted that Skyrim will be using an "all-new" engine."I am Aragorn, son of Arathorn; and if by life or death I can save you, I will."

Beth spokespersons lie all the time. I bet it's still gamebryo.
"Years ago, I mean decades ago, I read a quote about politicians performing quid pro quo favors for campaign cash, and whether or not we could prove it. The guy who was quoted opined that it was difficult to determine. He noted that in many cases, the payoff might not take the form of votes on legislative action -- those might be detectable, and so are avoided -- but could take subtler forms, like the question that is never asked at a hearing.
The media's doing a terrific job of not asking questions it doesn't want to know the answer to. It doesn't ask these questions in bulk, and the great volume of questions it doesn't ask makes it cheap to not ask questions.
And it passes these savings on to you, the customer." Ace

I can't wait for this game. I love Oblivion so much, it's such an awesome, immersive world.
Saw a Stone Dragon the other day. Disgusting creatures.

Scans have been leaked. Can't link here, obviously. Love all the retards screaming "it has level scaling like Oblivian!!!!" (it doesn't, based on the info actually posted).

I just read about the combat and leveling details... sounds great! I still hope the combat has a VATS-like system

Re: Elder scrolls v: Skyrim announced
I am literally pissing my pants waiting for this game, just picked up Two Worlds 2 and I realize why I like Elder Scrolls so much.
Building a new computer so I can play it on P.C., necessity for Elder Scrolls as you do not get all the user made mods on PS3 or XBOX, would be cool if they somehow were able to do that though.
If you are interested you should pick up last months Game Informer at Gamestop, great looking Issue as well.

Sorry, VATS rules. But from what I've heard, it won't. Instead it will have quasi-cinematic "finishing" movies

The game is going to be literally Epic, I especially like the touch in the menu, where you look up into the stars to see your abilities and the star signs light up as you level up, and when you look down on the menu, you fly high into the sky for a birds eye view of the map.

Haven't heard of that...
I just hope the world is as big and as rich as Oblivion's world. I can't wait to start pickpocketing Nords :)Prolonged Trauma Damages the Parts of the Brain that Handle Language!

Re: Elder scrolls v: Skyrim announced
Oblivion actually felt kind of small, did you play Daggerfall? It can not possibly be that big but I hope its pretty massive, at least twice what Oblivion was, anywhere I went in Oblivion it always seemed like I could see the main tower of the Imperial City, not that it took away from my experience of the game in any meaningful manner though. I could live with a map the same size of oblivion but I sure hope its a lot bigger.
