Christmas is all about Jesus! Jesus is all about you!

Quite a few years ago my wife, my son and daughter-in-law and my two grandsons were setting in our living room. Our youngest grandson Dylan was sitting on my lap trying to talk to me but we all know that adult talk is always more important, right?

WRONG!

As I was talking suddenly he took both hands placed them on either side of my chin turned my face toward him and said, “I am trying to talk to you.” And once he had my attention told me what he wanted to say. While his conversation has long since passed from my memory the incident sticks deep not only in my memory but in my spirit as well.

During this Christmas Season and every Christmas Season God lies in a manger and trying desperately to get our attention yet our talking is always more important, right?

WRONG!

When God speaks he always speaks words of hope, words of peace, words of justice, words of love, words of light, words of faith. When God speaks he always speaks words of himself because he is all those and much, much more!

From one whose reed is bruised and whose wick is smoldering to another as you read these words listen for God to speak to your heart.

“Behold, my servant whom I have chosen, my beloved with whom my soul is well pleased. I will put my Spirit upon him, and he will proclaim justice to the Gentiles. He will not quarrel or cry aloud, nor will anyone hear his voice in the streets; a bruised reed he will not break, and a smoldering wick he will not quench, until he brings justice to victory; and in his name the Gentiles will hope.” (Matthew 12:17-21 ESV)

Jesus is the Prince of Wholeness! Be ye whole as he is whole! AMEN!
