This is happening because it is the "in" thing to have your very own injustice to rail against in the social justice world. It is a matter of pride and prestige. but all of the normal injustices already have been brought to the public's eye, such as racism, mental illness, fat shaming. So we have these SJWs struggling to find new causes to go after, or victims to protect, so we end up with such ridiculous things as this idiocy on breastfeeding, or like in the screwball thread about the woman who said cheering and applauding was not fair to deaf people so people should use jazz hands instead, or claiming that eating tacos is cultural appropriation.

Not a useful term though. Wearing clothing isn't natural. Flying in planes isn't natural. Numerous poisonous plants are natural. There's a current fad in alternative medicine where "natural" is used as a synonym for 'good' to try and sell products of dubious medical value. AFAICT the authors mentioned in the OP are totally fine with breast-feeding, they just give a variety of reasons that the word 'natural' is a poor marketing choice in promoting it.Originally posted by Meh Gerbil View Post
