Transliteration (Accordance):
oudeis gar ti en kryptō̧ poiei kai zētei autos en parrēsia̧ einai. ei tauta poieis, phanerōson seauton tō̧ kosmō̧.
Translation (ESV)
For no one works in secret if he seeks to be known openly. If you do these things, show yourself to the world."
Analysis (Zerwick):κρυπτός : hidden, secret.
καί : coordinate for subordinate "no one does something in secret when he wants to be known publicly".
ζητέω : want.
παρρησία : (< πᾶς + ῥῆσις full liberty of speech) frankness, openness, ἐν παρρησίᾳ in the open, known to all.
εἰ ταῦτα ποιεῖς : if you do these things (real condition).
φανέρωσον : aorist imperative of φανερόω show.
σεαυτόν : yourself.

Jesus said to them, "My time has not yet come, but your time is always here.

The world cannot hate you, but it hates me because I testify about it that its works are evil.

Translation (ESV)
You go up to the feast. I am not going up to this feast, for my time has not yet fully come."

About the middle of the feast Jesus went up into the temple and began teaching.

The Jews were astonished: ‘How is it’, they said, ‘that this untrained man has such learning?’
Analysis (Zerwick):ἐθαύμαζον : imperfect of θαυμάζω marvel.
λέγοντες : participle of λέγω say.
γράμμα : letter (of the alphabet) ; γράμματα οἶδα have knowledge, be learned, especially in Scripture.

ean tis thelȩ̄ to thelēma autou poiein, gnōsetai peri tēs didachēs poteron ek tou theou estin ē egō ap’ emautou lalō.
Translation (ESV)
If anyone's will is to do God's will, he will know whether the teaching is from God or whether I am speaking on my own authority.

ὁ ἀφ᾿ ἑαυτοῦ λαλῶν τὴν δόξαν τὴν ἰδίαν ζητεῖ· ὁ δὲ ζητῶν τὴν δόξαν τοῦ πέμψαντος αὐτὸν οὗτος ἀληθής ἐστιν καὶ ἀδικία ἐν αὐτῷ οὐκ ἔστιν.
Transliteration (Accordance):
ho aph’ heautou lalōn tēn doxan tēn idian zētei; ho de zētōn tēn doxan tou pempsantos auton houtos alēthēs estin kai adikia en autō̧ ouk estin.
Translation (ESV)
The one who speaks on his own authority seeks his own glory; but the one who seeks the glory of him who sent him is true, and in him there is no falsehood.
Analysis (Zerwick):ὁ λαλῶν : (participle) one who speaks.
ζητέω : aim at.
ἀληθής : true, of persons, honest genuine.
ἀδικία : unrighteousness, in the present context : "And there is no insincerity about him."
