You'll have to connect the dots for me, because I'm not seeing what you're seeing.

While I don't really care for Comey, I don't like what I'm hearing about how he was told he was fired. Not very nice. Of course it's one side of the story...he may have known and thumbed his nose at them by going on this trip. Just...not classy on any body's part.

There were a number of issues with Comey so I'm not going to jump to the conclusion that it was an effort to suppress an investigation, but I don't think it means much to say someone was acting on the suggestions of people they put into power in the first place.
What does that have to do with anything?

CNN exclusive: Grand jury subpoenas issued in FBI's Russia investigation

Federal prosecutors have issued grand jury subpoenas to associates of former National Security Advisor Michael Flynn seeking business records, as part of the ongoing probe of Russian meddling in last year's election, according to people familiar with the matter. CNN learned of the subpoenas hours before President Donald Trump fired FBI director James Comey.

Trump's firing of Comey that bizarrely took effect immediately looks more than mildly suspicious, coming as it did mere hours after the FBI issued subpoenas demanding the Trump team's business records.

Nixon infamously fired the people investigating him during Watergate.

              Also being reported:
Justice Department was told to come up with reasons to fire Comey, reports say:

The Department of Justice was told to come up with justification to fire FBI Director James Comey, The New York Times and CNN reported Tuesday.

White House and Justice Department officials "had been working on building a case against [Comey] since at least last week," according to the Times, which cited administration officials. The report said Attorney General Jeff Sessions "had been charged with coming up with reasons to fire him."

And I bet you're under the grand delusion that Obama did.
The first to state his case seems right until another comes and cross-examines him.

I feel sad for you that you're this ignorant.

To pick one example, consider the Energy Secretary who manages the country's nuclear arsenal. Trump appointed Rick Perry who is a politician (in)famous for saying he wanted to abolish three departments and then forgetting the name of the 3rd one and then later saying it was the Department of Energy, and who has a degree in animal science, and after accepting the job as energy secretary and subsequently learning from Obama's ex-secretary what the department of energy did said he didn't want to abolish it anymore. Both Obama's appointees to the jobs were nuclear physics professors with PhDs in the field and decades of experience. One was a Nobel Prize winner.

I have more PhDs myself than the entirety of Trump's cabinet combined. He has consistently appointed people without any skill, experience, or knowledge whatsoever in the field they operate in. Perry is merely one of several examples. Obama actually appointed people who knew their fields and had experience in them.

Apparently James Comey literally thought his firing was a joke:

Comey was in Los Angeles for a speaking engagement when the news broke. According to the New York Times, he thought it was a prank:

Mr. Comey was addressing a group of F.B.I. employees in Los Angeles when a television in the background flashed the news that he had been fired.

In response, Mr. Comey laughed, saying he thought it was a fairly funny prank.

Then his staff started scurrying around in the background and told Mr. Comey that he should step into a nearby office… Shortly thereafter, a letter from Mr. Trump was delivered to the F.B.I.’s headquarters, just seven blocks from the White House.

The Trump administration is so incompetent they apparently even botch the process of telling a person they are being fired. Here you'd instantly win a wrongful-dismissal case if you learned of your firing on TV rather than in person, and your employer would be liable to compensate you for damages.

Yeah. Because ivory-tower PhD-ism is the best measure of "skill, experience, [and] knowledge" in a field.

Yeah, better to have a Vet rather than a Nuclear Physicist managing the nukes. And why not put Ben Carson in charge of Housing and Urban Development when he knows nothing about that subject? It's just so obvious.

What a joke. People will still be laughing about the Trump administration centuries from now.

They don't need to be expert to be Cabinet member of whatever, 'cos they have lots of underlings who are experts who can advice them.

Even the 'nuclear prof with Nobel prize!!!!!' you care so much about, while being in charge of Energy will have lots of advice from other people about coal, oil, natural gas, solar energy, wind energy, what not.
