The Shroud of Turin is a cloth made from Flax fibrels. Flax is a plant. Carbon dating is applicable to organic matter.
The Dead Sea Scrolls were dated by the papyrus. Papyrus is a plant. Carbon dating is applicable to organic matter. There were other things like pottery etc. that helped date the Dead Sea Scrolls.
The texts in question...what are they called?....are made from lead and copper which is pretty cool. Carbon dating is inapplicable to them unless they happen to open one of the sealed books and it has a flattened flower or other plant material it is highly unlikely that they will be dated using carbon-14.

Peter Thonemann of Oxford is willing to stake his career on their being a fraud. If you're going to forge something, it would probably make it more difficult to detect if you actually know something about what you're trying to fake.

vegetation would be "organic" you dip. and any rocks in the ice could not help with the dating, other than by studying the strata which they came from.
Think of it this way, most rocks would have already existed long before the ice engulfed them, so how would even knowing the age of the rock tell you when the ice came? If a 1 billion year old rock was found in a glacier, that doesn't mean that the ice age happened 1 billion years ago.

The Dead Sea Scrolls were almost all written on parchment (animal skins) though a few are on papyrus (plant material), and the Shroud of Turin is linen (made of flax -- more plant material). If you may notice none of those are rock.
Good question. Mineral is not, so that leaves fire, water, and/or spirit.
