      Re: Passover 2011

      Thank you Mitzi,

We studied the Passover Seder in church last sunday and I was amazed by how much of it points to the Messiah and the life of Jesus.

For example, the Yachatz and the Afikomen.

The Yachatz as I understand it is the custom of taking a bag with three matzahs (unleavened bread) in it, removing the middle one, breaking it, then hiding the larger part (the afikomen) wrapping it in a cloth and hiding it until the end of the meal.

To me, a Christian, the parallels are obvious. The three matzahs represent the triune God, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. The middle piece (Son) is broken for our sin, and is the bread of life, hidden away (burial) until the end of the meal where it is returned (resurrected) and eaten by everyone and then they drink the third cup, the cup of redemption.

      Re: Passover 2011

It might be interesting for Christians to study all of the Biblical appointed days Sparko. They all point to Messiah and aspects of His ministry and soon return. It is suprising to find so much pointingt to Messiah in ther traditional Sedar meal even some of the non biblical traditions seem to have symbolism that seems to have been orchestrated by God. Not all the traditions of course but as you pointed out about...

and it makes the description of the last supper passover with Jesus and his disciples that much more meaningful. I never realized how our communion bread and cup were tied into the passover seder before.

      Re: Passover 2011

There is far more messianic symbolism in the 7 biblical appointed days then either Jewish or Christian believers realize. The spring observances point mainly to Messiahs first coming and the fall His return. Lots of things there that would suprise people. Most of the Jews do not recognize the messianic symbolism and most Christians haven't a clue it is there at all. Go figure!?

      Blessings~

So the triune God in fact is a quaternity?

      One Father-matzah,
      one Holy Ghost-matzah,
      two pieces of Son- matzah?

And how do they from a oneness?

      Is that in the dough?

One dough out of which three matzahs were kneeded?

      Oh go away Sylvius.

Jesus was "broken" for our sins - I am sorry you have such a hard time with symbolism. Maybe if you took out your calculator and figured out the gematria of Matsah?

Is 53: 5But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. "

The middle matzah is broken in two pieces, the larger piece being laid away and forgot about and taken away by the children and hid --that's the afikoman.

      Is Jesus the afikoman?

Or is he also the smaller piece?

Or is the smaller piece the mortal Jesus and the larger piece the resurrected Jesus?

      Another question:

Who did the kneeding and baking of them three?

      Was that Maria Magdalene?

Mitzi, can you ask Sylvius to leave this thread? I don't want to have to listen to his ignorant comments and he is not worth the time to even answer.

      Sparko, take heed!

Beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and the leaven of Herod.

      (Mark 8:15)

Which is the secret of Passover.

      Leaven = "chomeitz"

Differs in just one letter with "matzah"

      "Chomeitz" written with "chet" ("chet-mem-tzade")

      "Matzah" written with "heh". ("mem-tzade-heh")

And these two letters differ just by the little opening under the roof of the "heh" --

Opening through which repentants can return.

Their leaven was their intention to kill Jesus -- Mark 3:6,

Then the Pharisees went out and immediately plotted with the Herodians against Him, how they might destroy Him.

      Re: Passover 2011

      Sylvius,

I have often wondered about your posts Sylvius. You seem to be obsessed with the numerical values of words. You often choose to ignore obvious symbolism in favor of obscure hidden (occult) meanings in the texts. Where are you drawing these insights from? What is the source of the information you are promoting? What are the points you are trying to make? Many of your long rambling indescipherable posts seem to have no specific point in mind. Are you coming up with this stuff on your own? Are you a student of Kabbalistic numerology? Or are you getting this through direct revelation? I am just curious. Often times after reading your posts I see no point intended at all. You seem to believe the number sequence 666 has some special spiritual meaning. You express that idea regularly. Want to share with us your insights about what that means to you? It seems pointless to write long posts filled with information that most of us cannot extract any real usable applicable knowledge from! If you think of your self as a teacher and have attained some higher form of hidden knowledge, maybe you could share that with the rest of us. If I am even going to bother reading your posts I would like to know where you are coming from spiritually. I am looking forward to hearing your response!

Sparko - you're the supervisor (monitor) on this board, even though it is Jewish. Personally, you know, he's a good person and friend to all. If you feel that he is a distraction to the thread - then you have to do what you think best. Also, in addition, if you wish to continue conversing with others about this topic.
