Suggested Android Apps
Well my HTC Touch HD's touch screen decided to stop working on Good Friday. (one of the many things to go wrong this weekend, starting with my eldest going down with a nasty tummy bug on Thursday that made the whole family sick for the weekend).
So I bought myself a Samsung Galaxy S as a replacement. Now although my beloved has an Android phone (SE Xperia 10 Mini Pro), I am basically new to Android, coming from being a Windows Mobile user/developer for the last 10 years (heck I still have a working grey-scale Compaq iPaq running Windows PPC 2000 lying around somewhere as well an HP iPaq WinMo2003SE with built-in phone + GPS, one of the first WinMo smartphones)
What apps do you suggest, and why?

Re: Suggested Android Apps
Any type of app.
I already have all 3 Angry Birds games.
I have OliveTree; the Mars Hill Church app (Driscoll, not Bell); Ligonier; RZIM; Grace to You; and the ESV app.
I have NFS shift, Glyder 2; squish the bugs (my eldest loves this one); Alchemy
I've switched to using Kindle.
I'm using Opera."If you can ever make any major religion look absolutely ludicrous, chances are you haven't understood it"

Re: Suggested Android Apps
aig (answers in genesis) has an app thats cool, theres also a free bible that speaks the verses i forget what its called but thats cool as well.
have you used shazaam? it can determine any song it hears, and tell you the artists and song name just by listening, its pretty cool.
hmm, robo defense is a great game!
words with friends is cool, its just liek scrabble you can play with people online.
advanced task killer is a must for battery power, it kills apps for you all in one big swoop.
also lookout is a virus program that scans apps for unsafe things, and it also lets you remotely lock your phone if you lose it and it can find it by gps. it gives you control over it through their website. itsa a MUST
tango lets you video chat with people for free.
google maps is a free gps program, its awesome
those are my must have apps, that everyone should have.
i also like alchemy, its fun and im stuck at 309/370 elements.
hope some of this helps! The rambler of ramblers!

Re: Suggested Android Apps
Hmmm, personally I prefer CMI, but if they don't have an App I'll grab the AIG one.
I have the ESV Bible read by Max Mclean in mp3 format, so I can always copy them over.
No I haven't. My beloved's Xperia has TrackID which does the same.
I'll look at that one.
That sounds fun....I'll have to also tell my mom-in-law about that one as she is a scrabble freak.
So far I've been using the Samsung one which seems pretty comprehensive.
AVG was one of the first things I installed.
I had been hoping Skype would finally offer video (I've seen a working beta on the 4G Desire HD). I don't know what will happen now with MS having bought them, so I might need to look at Tango.
pre-installed. I also added Google Earth and Google Skymap.
Cool
LOL my beloved installed that on my phone this weekend, along with the cheat sheet.
Yup it does. Thanks"If you can ever make any major religion look absolutely ludicrous, chances are you haven't understood it"
