Re: A majority!!!!!!
Yes, dental coverage would be nice. I've had my dad paying for all my cavities (thanks to a lousy orthodontist....and poor self-discipline in my younger years), and I still gotta get 3 wisdom teeth pulled and a root canal.
It would also be nicer if they could make job-finding easier for people under 30 years old."Everybody wants to go to heaven. They just don't want God to be there when they get there." Paul Washer

Re: A majority!!!!!!
Speaking of colloquialisms, one that gets us South African expats into trouble here in NZ is the "just now".
When a South African says "I'll do X just now" it means "whenever I get to doing it" (but sometime soon). In NZ apparently it means you're gonna get right onto it (which in SA you would say "I'll do it now now").
Oh, and what we call robots in SA are what the rest of the world calls traffic lights, and what we call traffic circles, they call round-a-bouts here."If you can ever make any major religion look absolutely ludicrous, chances are you haven't understood it"

"I hate Manwe's posts because I hate babies and America." --Augustine2004, August 6, 2011
Then Morgoth turned upon Húrin, and he said: 'Fool, little among Men, and they are the least of all that speak! Have you seen the Valar, or measured the power of Manwë and Varda?
Do you know the reach of their thought? Or do you think, perhaps, that their thought is upon you, and that they may shield you from afar?'
'I know not,' said Húrin. 'Yet so it might be, if they willed. For the Elder King shall not be dethroned while Arda endures.'

Re: A majority!!!!!!
What absolute nonsense. Regardless of whatever you might think of the Bloc, there is no reason why, in a parliamentary representative democracy, they "shouldn't be there in the first place" if they only run candidates in a certain province or region. You run for Parliament to represent your local electoral district, and you would expect a Quebec separatist party to be wanting to represent the interests of voters in, surprise surprise, Quebec.
Are you saying that in the United Kingdom, the Scottish National Party should run candidates in Wales if they want their election campaign to be "legitimate"? Or that Plaid Cymru should run candidates in Northern Ireland? Or that Sinn Fein should run candidates in England? What complete tripe.Last edited by Alucard; May 4th 2011 at 03:01 AM.

Re: A majority!!!!!!
The Bloc cannot be considered a "Federal" party if they only run candidates in one province. The only reason there was a large representation of them in Parliament in the first place is because of the inequity of the system that allows the provinces with the most populations to have the most seats. Ontario and Quebec hold the lion's share of the seats in this country, and when one party is run in one of those provinces and no others, then guess how many seats that party will get? Especially when they run on a platform of secession to a population with a huge sense of misplaced entitlement.
Is Scotland a "province" of England? Are Wales and Ireland "provinces"? Are these "provinces" running platforms of separation from England? Really, I don't much care. That is Britain's system. Our system may be based on the British model, but it is not the same. So, no, I am not saying the same thing should be the case in other countries. I live HERE.
And why do you care. You live in Oz.
