Re: Islam a way of life
I have heard Muslims say that Islam is superior because it instructs you in every area in life. Christianity does not.
Islam is inferior to Christianity because it insists on rules for every area of life. Many people on earth can't do the things they are asked to do in Islam. In West Papua New Guinea the only cattle they have is pigs. They live in what's called an Old Jungle and so it's not heavily occupied by animals. But, Jesus taught us
Mark 7:19 ...because it does not go into his heart, but into his stomach, and is eliminated?" (Thus He declared all foods clean.).
There is also the Inuit who live in a place with midnight sun and then months of darkness. This makes timing Salat difficult.
This elimination of restrictions invites those to come to God who would not have had access to fellowship with God.
Islam was designed to be practiced in desert regions. This explains the regulations about clothing in the Hadith. The Qu'ran says that Islam is universal but as we can see it can't be practiced universally. Christianity is stripped down to a few essentials. This makes it far more adaptable to other cultures. Christianity doesn't tell you what to do on every detail because the people around the world live very different lives in many different environments. A wise Creator accounts for the needs of His children when making His demands.~Thomas PaineGovernment, even in its best state, is but a necessary evil; in its worst state, an intolerable one.

Re: Islam a way of life
That's right..islam enforces its followers to live by total prescription, in every sphere of life. Thats very legalistic from the human perspective.
The Gospel endorses life by redemptive salvation. Thats what John 10:10 is all about.
"The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full..."
"Theres a God-shaped vacuum in everyone that can only be filled by God Himself!"

Re: Islam a way of life
If a teaching is only good for the part of your life where you're in church, it's not much of a teaching.
“And so I tell you, keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you.
For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And to everyone who knocks, the door will be opened.
(Luke 11:9-10)

There is a difference between specific teachings and principles. Christianity teaches many principles but we are given the freedom to determine how best to apply these to our specific situations rather than rigidly conforming to rules that wouldn't work outside a few countries.
The right of way is a wild goose chase. It makes you wonder if shooting for stars is like darts in the dark.

Re: Islam a way of life
Nonsense, barnasha... Christianity never is only for Sundays or church-days.
I have never subscribed ot the kind of 'churchianity' you are talking about!
The Lord Jesus Christ came to give us ALL the abundant life - as I quoted for everybody- in John 10:10 as a total way of life. BUT not by prescription ass what muhamad and islam promulgates.
Of course you would never acknowledge Jesus Christ as THE Lord. Hence, you would never be able to appreciate this abundant life He gives to all who would submit to His Lordship.
Matthew 11:27 ff - Jesus says:
27 “All things have been committed to me by my Father. No one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal him.
Hence, ONLY Jesus Christ has the authority and the power to dispense eternal life and the true knowledge of God to whoever He chooses..., so:
Matthew 11: 28 -
28 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.
It is NOT just only rest that the Lord Jesus Christ gives, He has the power and the authority to give everlasting life...:
John 10: 27, 28 -
27 My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. 28 I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them OUT OF MY HAND.
This is the new and revolutionary kind of relationship that the Lord Jesus came to establish and to give all of humanity and mankind - including all followers of islam.
Not merely by prescription - like in islam, BUT by a living and personal relationship with the Creator God Who made us in His image.
Dan.
