Re: Forge Post -- Camping Out
30 years ago Camping had a debate with John Walvoord (former president of Dallas Theological Seminary)
Dan Phillips has helpfully re-listened to the six hour long discussion again.

Re: Forge Post -- Camping Out
listening to Camping's radio show the other day I was amazed and the sheer awfulness of his skill at biblical interpretation. He makes Ty Rockwell and Michael Cadry sound like geniuses.

Re: Forge Post -- Camping Out
Don't forget, by that "logic" each of the days in that 1000 year period is also like a 1000 years to the lord, so we are talking roughly 365 million days but the thing is each of those ~365M days is also like a 1000 years, etc.
All these date setters basing their dates on their looney interpretations of that verse seem to conveniently forget that.

Heh... a buddy and i had the radio on during May 20th last month and the news show was talking about Harold Camping (Yes, even Saskatchewan has heard about Camping). We were both laughing and shaking our head at some of the stuff they were quoting of his... laughing at how ridiculous it was (No sane Futurist or Dispensationalist we know would do Date-Setting), but also shaking our heads because of the damage control we as Christians would have to do because of this (the dude even has a CHILDREN'S SHOW).
We even got on this topic during Sunday School, and one guy aptly pointed out that people who aren't Christians have heard oodles about the Rapture, Tribulation, and Final Judgment... but they know little if anything about the future Resurrection of the Dead and all it entails, which goes to show how infrequently it's preached upon (or even studied for that matter). This is a sad statement, given the fact that the Resurrection of the Dead is one of the major doctrines of Christianity (especially because it separates us from other world religions) and very few people know about it."If tonight is Cher night in TWeb chat, then I must have been wrong and there is a hell afterall"-XMansMommy
