      He doesn't really apologize for anything, and says stuff like there is much more to study regarding the matter, which sounds to me like he is planning on continuing with the date setting, if he lives long enough.

      He also sort of blames God for the failure saying that God allowed the mistake to be made and could have stopped it at any time if he wanted to, so it must have been his will.
