More relevant to policies he might vote for is this:
GOP candidate accused of body-slamming reporter has said retirement is ‘not biblical’:
In a 2015 talk at the Montana Bible College, Gianforte said the idea of retirement doesn’t exactly match his religious beliefs.
“There’s nothing in the Bible that talks about retirement. And yet it’s been an accepted concept in our culture today,” he said at the time, according to a report in HuffPost. “Nowhere does it say, ‘Well, he was a good and faithful servant, so he went to the beach.’ It doesn’t say that anywhere.”...
“How old was Noah when he built the ark? 600,” he said. “He wasn’t like, cashing Social Security checks, he wasn’t hanging out, he was working. So, I think we have an obligation to work. The role we have in work may change over time, but the concept of retirement is not biblical.”
And his threats of physical violence towards the media aren't new:
Last month, a voter at a Gianforte town hall pointed out a journalist in the room, called the media “the enemy” and mimed the act of wringing a neck.
Gianforte smiled and pointed at the reporter.
“We have someone right here,” he said, according to the Ravalli Republic. “It seems like there are more of us than there is of him.”
It's one thing to not like how the media are currently doing their jobs and campaign for improvement. It's quite another to openly support actual physical violence towards journalists and follow that up with actual violence actions. A free media is absolutely essential for democracy, and that why it's in the first amendment right alongside free speech."I hate him passionately", he's "a demonic force" - Tucker Carlson, in private, on Donald Trump
"Every line of serious work that I have written since 1936 has been written, directly or indirectly, against totalitarianism and for democratic socialism" - George Orwell
"[Capitalism] as it exists today is, in my opinion, the real source of evils. I am convinced there is only one way to eliminate these grave evils, namely through the establishment of a socialist economy" - Albert Einstein

The reporter who got punched (Ben Jacobs) had previously expressed a desire to punch a conservative journalist:

Left, right and center, straight news and opinion, journalists at CPAC have one thing in common, the overwhelming urge to punch Benji Backer"As for my people, children are their oppressors, and women rule over them. The Adamic cycle, also known as the Prophetic cycle is stated to have begun approximately 6,000 years ago with a Manifestation of God referred to in various sacred scriptures as Adam, and ended with the dispensation of Muhammad.[12][13] In this cycle, Bahá’í belief is that Manifestations of God continued to advance human civilization at regular intervals through progressive revelation. The Abrahamic religions and Dharmic religions are partial recognitions of this cycle, from a Bahá’í point of view.
In Bahá’í belief, the Bahá’í cycle, or Cycle of Fulfillment, began with The Báb and includes Bahá’u’lláh, and will last at least five hundred thousand years with numerous Manifestations of God appearing throughout that time.[13][14] It is stated in Bahá’í literature that the Manifestations of God in the Adamic cycle, in addition to bringing their own teachings, foretold of the Cycle of Fulfillment.[15]
