A Glory Seed Devotional
A Personal “Going Deeper” Question...

Note: this is a reply only to yourself Evotional…

He (Jesus) came to Nazareth where he had been reared. As he always did on the Sabbath, he went to the meeting place. When he stood up to read, he was handed the scroll of the prophet Isaiah. Unrolling the scroll, he found the place where it was written, God's Spirit is on me; he's chosen me to preach the Message of good news to the poor, Sent me to announce pardon to prisoners and recovery of sight to the blind, To set the burdened and battered free, to announce, "This is God's year to act!" (Luke 4:16-19 MSG)

I’ve a question for you to answer not for me but for yourself. I’d like to see it not as a right or wrong question but instead see it as a “going deeper” question. Here’s the question: Should you spend your life seeking to go deeper into Jesus’ heart or should you spend your life seeking to draw Jesus deeper into your heart?

Before you begin to formulate your answer consider this scripture. “So here's what I want you to do, God helping you: Take your everyday, ordinary life--your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life--and place it before God as an offering. Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for him. Don't become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God. You'll be changed from the inside out. Readily recognize what he wants from you, and quickly respond to it. Unlike the culture around you, always dragging you down to its level of immaturity, God brings the best out of you, develops well-formed maturity in you.” (Romans 12:1-2 MSG)

And consider this one, “I'll pour pure water over you and scrub you clean. I'll give you a new heart, put a new spirit in you. I'll remove the stone heart from your body and replace it with a heart that's God-willed, not self-willed. I'll put my Spirit in you and make it possible for you to do what I tell you and live by my commands.” (Ezekiel 36:25-27 MSG)

It is the Spirit who gives life!
If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.*
