Hello Rational Gaze,

First you need to go see a psychologist and get tested.
MMPI and one other maybe the Millon.
But, this is not all. To adequately diagnosis the therapist needs to assess you over time.
I know more than one person who was diagnosed bi-polar who were actually DID.
Dissociative Identity Disorder. They were sexually abused as children and had amnesia walls to
it and their other personalities. Time revealed to the therapist what was actually going on.
See someone who specializes in DID. They will also be able to treat bi-polar if that is the case.

Those categories for 'psychological health' were written by psychiatrists. And psychiatrists have been somewhat heavily compromised by the government and drug industries, if i may allow another psychiatrist to understate the case just a bit.

I have immediately taken a great liking to you Epoetker. You are so right on although I'd drop the word "somewhat" from your comment, ha ha.

But seriously, RG, dual diagnosis in psychiatry is an extremely difficult problem for psychiatrists/psychologists to handle. Get a therapist/doctor you like and stick with it.

This has been an issue with you for a long time but it seems you haven't been consistent in treatment. I'm sure there are money issues but consistency is the key here like others have stated.
